expect the plumbing to all be brushed/polished aluminum in mandrel bent "one-piece sections" as opposed to the tig welded sections now. Also, the bracketry will be reduced down to only the necessary componants with no extra. everythig will be radiused and smoothed. Powdercoating is also possible. The pulley will be anodized, hardcoated and engraved with logo and psi rating. Air filter will probably change from monsterflow to K&N and the IAT sensor will be placed closer to the engine (rather than the battery) in order to keep the wires more neatly tucked away. Also, Juan has agreed to make custom Haltech harnesses for me that will remove the boost control solenoid lines (about 5) and add a wideband control lead if someone wished to run a UEGO. This is HUGE...doing this will allow your UEGO wideband to completely self-map for you in closed loop mode.....it's awesome.

I hope everyone likes it when I decide to show it all off. Right now a few teaser pics are being sent out to people just to whet their whistles.....

if you want a pic just pm me your email address.
so with the wideband lead will that mean all you need is a windband gauge instead of the whole 400 kit you have to buy. Like the AEM UEGO for example.

no, with the wideband lead you plug in the whole $450 UEGO and the haltech uses the UEGO to control all closed-loop functions...the gauge will display what it's doing though.

Think of it kinda like the new MAP sensor that comes in the kit....plug it into the haltech and it'll use that new signal to control more stuff.

today WAS dyno day...unfortunatly we were planning on doing a few hours of road tuning with full throttle blasts but we are under winter storm warnings. Roads are icy and wet. No'one is getting anything done today.

I'm hoping this will give me a little more time to put the finishing touches on everything.

to go into withdrawal you have to actually have injested said substance!!!

if anyone is going through withdrawals it's me!!

I'm hoping to get everything up and done REAL soon though....DaveB is going to be sending me all the CAD drawings so I can hopefully knock out a few different pulleys for testing. I think my original pulley size was a little large. It feels about like 4-5psi. I think in order to hit the power levels I'm shooting for I'll need more like 6-8psi.

Haha, that is true, but I know everytime this thread gets updated I'm quick to read it. How'd that storm go? Did you get the time to do some of the finishing touches like you had said you wanted to?

Also, I dont know if you ever came to your decision, but have you decided if your selling privately, to powerdyne, or at all yet?

P.S. those new pics are awesome! Everythings lookin great. Cant wait to see when you get it on the dyno.

Matty,

Sounds like you are doing really well on this.. I know I cant afford a kit untill next year at the most so all I can say is i hope this works out well enough for you to go into production fully !!!

I cant tell you how much I want to see some WOMP kits in the UK !

that would be crazy if I was bigger in Europe than I am here!!

Scotty, no decision is made yet. Once i get everything 100% finished and tuned I'm taking it all to powerdyne and they will have final say. If they offer me enough then it's gone and it will be manufactured and sold by them...if they dont then I'll make it myself on a GB-only basis.

i am kinda supprised your thinking about selling it to Powerdyne.. BUT I do understand your reasons.

Of corse even if they do buy it.. is there any reason why you cant still make the kits ?

i'd be selling all rights to the design to them. This is common practice when making supercharger kits. Blower manufacturers rarely make their own kits. They sell headunits to fabricators who build the kit, submit the product for evaluation and then the manufacturer will reproduce the pieces on their own and sell it as THEIR kit. Sometimes the kits are approved and still produced and built and shipped by the fab shop....I'm not interested in doing this and taking orders from Powerdyne. I'm looking forward to washing my hands of it and moving onto another product...possibly that new Mazda5 mini-van or a Mazda2 if they release it soon.
