I forgot all about this.....

Ken at protegegarage.com was helping me out with a few things and know that their doors have closed I'll have to wait until I have a finished produc before I can get a 100% complete parts list and final price.

I've gotta bend in the wind...

is that good or bad?!?!

I'm still waiting to get everything back from DaveB......once he gets it to me I'll be able to verify that it'll work without belt slipping problems. Then it's only a matter of days after that.

I'm very close....just have to have the parts in my hands to finish it.

I spoke with DaveB and his shop has been closed due to horrible weather. He assured me that he'd get in this weekend (possibly today) and finish everything up. I was promised to have everything back in my hands early next week. I'm hoping for monday or tuesday so I can get it back in the car and get the charge piping already bent.

Well, that's too bad about his shop closing, but it's good for us! He has free access to his machines

Hope he is able to finish as promised.

NOt sure if I posted this

Here are the early bracket and pulley pics. These are off the car (for the most part) and give you an idea of the shape and precision needed to make them come out just right.

The black bolts are allen head bolts. I'll be including all stainless steel bolts and fasteners in the kits for others though. Also the pieces you see were sent back to dave to be lightened, smoothed, radiused and slightly adjusted. They should come back looking a good bit differently. These are still very nicely done though.

All of this was machined from aluminum block.

....god I need money fast....every picture I look at of this, even just these mounting brackets, or anything I hear about it, I just want it more and more. And it makes me happy to know your making it, like discussed in the "brand names" post, it seems like your really putting a lot of time into this to make it just right!

One thing I wanted to show you was on the second picture you'll notice the little "T" shaped piece. That is the tensioner. Basically, we created the offset bracket and threaded it at the appropriate angle so that you can use your exsisting tensioning bolt from the PS pump and actually push the blower up and away to increase tnesion on the belt. In the 4th picture the second black bolt is the lock down bolt. I don't know how well this bolt actually holds it down but I have already come up with a better system for locking the blower in place. One thing we tried to do was make sure to re-use a lot of stock pieces to cut down on costs and having to find bolts to fit all different size holes and thread patterns...Mazda already did it for us!

Cool

But I thought I remember you telling me that the tensor wasnt going to work and that you are gonna have use new belts with each pulley size. Cause your original plan was to use 1 belt and use the tensor to adjust the belt ot fit each size pulley, but it turned out the SC was too big and there wasnt enough room to use the tensor.

I don't remember saying that but I do remember saying we'd just use one belt....sadly this won't work since the size of the blower really dictates how much space I have for tightening.

If I had more clearance it would not be a problem to swing the blower up and out further but I have to keep the charge piping in line with everything also....

Don't worry, for those needing different boost levels I'll supply the appropriate belt for the pulley.

I think this is the most current info available. I guess I'll update for everyone.

Brackets and everything are back from DaveB. It looks great. I'm still working on increasing belt tension but it no longer slips like it used. I just want it to be set down tighter on the pulley.

My mandrel bender ended up crushing all of my tubing while we were bending it. This is a big set back for me. I'm going to have to drop my car off at a local shop to have them cut and weld all stainless steel plumbing up instead of the 1-piece mandrel aluminum. I'll have it worked out when/if it goes into bulk production.

As of now everything is set for me to tune and dyno on the 29th. Pending any major setback I should be finished then and I'll just go into some durability testing.

Same here, looks like there are way to much difference of opinions at the other site. Just reading those WOMP threads over at the other site was repulsive.

As a person who wants to be a customer to a vendor, I would like all the information as possible to make a good buying decision even when the product itself is not fully ready, and that the person/s are potentially going to bring out to the public. By them removing or closing out WOMP threads is pretty much a communist act.

Anyways can't wait for results. I don't care which approach to more HP is better just as long as the product can be reliable, and don't have a lot of down time is good. As this is my only car, and pretty soon my only real transportation, I would hate to be renting cars because my car is in the shop because of a blown engine :-D

Wow so the WOMP is in your car now?
