my only concern now is that fact that nothing has been done in all this time.

No doubt in my mind that he would have any trouble doing these and doing these masterfully. My problem is that he keeps putting me off and making me look like a liar. I know I'm a different person but when I promise someone I'm going to do something important I follow through with it.

I understand that Dave is working some HUGE orders right now and he's very busy but he volunteered for this, he told me it wouldn't take him any time and I offered to pay for it and drive m car 14.5 hours and leave it with him and STILL nothing is done yet.

Honestly, I love Dave. He's a great guy, dad, machinist, car enthusiast but I'm at the end of my rope with this supercharger stuff. I'll be very upset if he doesn't come through for me and I end up shelling out another $1500 of my own money just to get my kit running. If that happens I will NOT make any more superchargers. I'll have the only one and that will be all.

yeah if Dave doesn't keep his word on this I'm afraid I'm just going to have the only one unless someone wants to pay these prices to get this stuff done.

The whole project started because someone said it was too expensive to make a decent, reliable supercharger...this is NOT the case. It's only expensive because I'm not an official business with a pool of R&D money set aside to build this. Everything I do on this kit has been done out of my pocket on the PROMISE of a few people who were going to help me with prices and purchasing the kits after I'm done.

I'm not pricing these to get rich. I allowed myself a little money per kit for the time to assemble everything and for my effort. In order for me to break even on these kits I'd have to sell every kit for $2800 and have to sell a minimum of 14 kits.

it would be nice to see Dave post up here

if he no longer wants to be involved with the project, he shouldn't keep stringing you (and everyone else) along with his promises

My thoughts exactly. Dave has told me on numerous occassions he would come online and post "updated pics" and give everyone a timeframe. This never happened. Come to find out he had no new materials to photgraph in the first place.

I really want everyone to know that I'm not here to flame DaveB in any way. I do want him to come on here and explain what is really going on though.

Dave has had every oppurtunity to turn me away and return my stuff. He's had numerous chances to tell me he was no longer interested in finishing this job. He has done exactly the opposite. My last call to him he said something along the lines of "Matt, I really want to get this done. I'm just as excited as you about seeing this run. I've been real busy, sorry. I'll get to it next week."...I think this was almost 3 weeks ago he said that.

And in a related story I will be driving up from Alabama to Ohio on thursday so Dave and I can finish this project this weekend. He'll be able to use my car to get exact measurements since his still retains the ac and mine doesn't.

Dave came through in a pinch. This speaks volumes about him and his character.

Guys,

I have been watching this thread and the orrigional one now closed for some time, I am from the UK and very interested in the work you have been doing, its quite possible that some of our guys would be interestied in the kits you are producing.

Although I drive a Probe we have a very similar FS series engine.
The main difference between your cars and the probe is that we have a distributor driven from the exhaust cam, thats about it...

How cool would it be to see your kit boosting a UK car soon !!

Dont give in now.. your so close!

Feel free to drop in and see us on the Probe site in the UK http://www.fpoc.co.uk/forums/slave1/

very interesting. I didn't know it had picked up any attention anywhere but our little neck of the woods.

Here's an interesting thought. This kit is a total custom job done to the protege, making it a high performance machine. Given a little more investement for a forged block, cams, injectors, maybe throttle body and exhaust (header->muffler), this could be well over a 300hp vehicle. Such custom kits are designed for Corvettes, Vipers and Porches known as the Lingenfelter Vette, Hennesey Viper and RUF's for the porches, so I think it appropriate that this kit get such recognition.

Now presenting the Roddimus Prime Protege!

Of course, other name options would be acceptable

Matty MP5, Perrymuk Protege, Team Roddimus Protege, Protege Prime...... WOMP Protege seems cool too, but it doesn't hold the designers name or handle in any esteem, so I'm thinking of some of these names. If we get a really good one, I'd be down with getting a window sticker stating the name once I put it in. Any other ideas?

to take what vielster said a step further, it might also be cool to come up with a custom trunk badge to maybe replace the word mazda on the right side?

so it would be:

......................(V)......................

Protegé...............................WOMP

(or whatever name is decided upon)

I was going to make Business cards you could hand out to the "kills" at your track.

"Don't be upset....you got WOMPed!!"
