Hey there Wichita KS! I am down the road in Oklahoma City and there are no less than four dealers here. I love my Compustar system, can't say enough good things about it.
I would always suggest in an alarm to meet the actual install tech, and give him a tip $$$ right up front, and let him know you will give him more if the install is super.
I am not knocking them, but most installers are creatures of ease and habit. Given experence of them, and where alarm companies suggest, I would wager I could find the "brain" of most installs within two guesses as to location. Give the installer the incentive to do his skill as an art, and you will get a superior install.
That has worked well for me on many an install including my protege, RX-7 and I anticipate it will do well for me on the Mazdaspeed when it arrives early next month.
The RX-7 and the new Mazdaspeed do and will have compustars by the way.
I really like them!!

i just got the compustar starter/alarm fm combo installed... love it so far! the installer did a great job and the connections ive seen so far are all soldered and heat shrinked. all i really wanted was the remote started but ended up getting the whole thing because of the price (about $500 + install CDN) i would not go for the cheapest price for install - look at previous work and installs for the company and installer.

the compustar does have the option for autolocking and arming, for the person who asked.

for a 5speed i found the compustar had the easiest 'reservation mode' for leaving the car ready to remotestart. i didnt want a switch inside my gearbox! all i have to do is take my foot off the brake pedal, engage the parking brak the remove the key and get out of the car. when i close the door it all shuts down and the alarm activates.
