Yea, I use my beat-up old dodge mini-van for work most nights. But once or twice a week i gotta have FUN at work. Plus the chicks at the local college I deliver to love it. I'm the only driver that gets play!

Beating Civics...haha

What are you, in the 10th grade? First off, the MP5 is SLOW...if I was looking for a fast car, I would have kept my CIVIC (B18 fully built, sleeved and boosted). However, with the great expenses it cost in maintaining that car, I decided to sell it to a friend. I bought the MP5 because A) I could haul stuff in it B)it was practical (air conditioning, backseats, leather, ton of cargo area w back seats folded down) C) It was much cheaper than the Audi Avante which I was originally considering, and IMO a better looking car.

Out here in Cincinnati you have to be careful what civics you are racing, cause a few of these are sleepers w/ B20's and B18C under the hood.

I agree, CIVICS are played out....however, I wouldn't even feel too confident racing a bone stock one in this car.

Hey! A fellow Cincinnatian!!! Yeah and here you do have to watch out for Civics...I know someone with a 2000 Si, you name it, it's got it. I took a ride once...FAST! But also, I know someone else with just an intake and exhaust and a big *** body kit. You never know...

Hmmm...well, all I can say is that I was congratulated by my Honda pals on never, EVER being in the 18-second club!

Wow...Let me be the first to congratulate you on running a 16.84 second 1/4 mile.

Next I would like to say that my original post was to the Author of this "POLL"...but, since you want to try to proclaim the Superior performance of the MP5, and your 16 second 1/4 mile, so be it...

IMO...the MP5 is meant to be a cool, affordable, practical car with great handling charecteristics and great reliability....but for some...ahem... "PHANTOM CRUISER"....it is a drag racer's dream!

Congratulations

HEY GCS118 - Bet you are lovin the snow in the Nati right now, sheeesh, is this winter ever going to end???

Right now, all my Protege is good for would be temporary shelter if the roof caved in on my apartment.

The car is stuck in it's parking spot, buried in snow I can't get it out of.

So, I'd say the P5 is USELESS right now....

*ahem*

Just like to write (although everyone else has already read it already) these cars are NOT drag kings and queens! But then again, neither is a STOCK CIVIC, though you seem to have an almighty opinion about the two vehicles.

At least my first mod isn't to do the infamous "engine swap" like the typical Honda owner.

I ran it at the track to see where it was compared to a lot of other 4-cyl sport compacts, and believe me....it does JUST FINE. Now when we really want to drag race, then we take out the 'other car'.

Phantom is being prepped for high speed touring, and yes, that includes corners!

My car has mods, my car is raced. My car doesn't sit at home and just 'look good'. You may think that's funny, it may tickle you and give you a good laugh (hahaha), but at least I am out there, having fun with my car.

Happy motoring

Mine is a milage *****. We (the fiance and I) drive it whenever we want to keep miles off the Passat or the Mustang.

22K and it is on its way to Dallas with the Fiance to visit Nordstroms for some shoes.
