I can confirm that the MP3 Nardi wheel is the exact same diameter as my stock 03 wheel. The diameter of the grip is a little smaller I believe or at least it feels smaller to me.

wow you guys are so full of it...

Steering ratio refers to the ratio between the turn of the steering wheel (in degrees) or handlebars and the turn of the wheels (in degrees). In motorcycles and bicycles, the steering ratio is always 1:1, while in most passenger cars, it is between 12 and 20:1. Example: If one complete turn of the steering wheel (360 degrees) causes the wheels to turn 24 degrees, then the ratio is 15:1 (360/24=15).

what this means, basically is that a higher steering ratio requires less effort to turn the wheels in, provide easier turning. This was probably due to the larger tires standard on the MP3. People probably just assumed it was "quicker". Considering the "aggressive" nature on the rest of the suspension, this would be an easy mistake

Um, that's pretty much what Chris said in post #2501.

But isn't wiki great?

Yeh, I didn't see any problems with Kansei's example of 15 degrees on the wheel = 1 degree on the road for 15:1 ratio.

Made sense to me, but thanks for another example I guess

^^^actually this was the important part..^^^

however, I used wikipedia's example, because it is more easy to understand and complete than the previous explanations

Which I also mentioned in a few posts after that? I think instead of changing the pulley on the power steering pump to change the level of assist they went with a different rack (which seems counterintuitive but I guess when the car isn't assembled yet it makes little difficulty difference). --and yes, as you mentioned, to counteract the wider tires, heavy wheels, etc.

stockers (BKR5E-11 if I recall correctly) or some ZFR5F-11 goodness?

I never have compared new BKR vs new ZFR to see if there's any noticeable difference. Plus that would require going to the dyno and I just can't have that happening :P

does it just have an indicator light that says "yeah, you wish you could control what I do, but I won't let you"?

I've never actually driven an automatic Protege before.. and I've probably driven 10-15 third gen proteges :P

I thought about changing that light once because I saw a walk through somewhere, but I got worried that it wouldnt match well without changing out the other lights like the a/c and the gauge lights.

today I awoke to this --so in a minute I gotta run outside and using the stock jack get my snow tires mounted as quickly as possible. If I don't get it done in time, I have to drive my mom's car on just AWFUL oem tires.. Continental ContiTouring Contact trash. .. gotta go like 75 miles round trip to a doctor's appointment (my mom's appointment not mine), but I'm stopping halfway at my aunt's house to fix some computer stuff.. so that means my mom gets to drive turbo protege5 in the snow for like 40 miles of it

she hates my "cheap crap" car so much.. she hated the suspension feel when it was stock, this is gonna be awesome

why the hell do you still not have a decent jack, after all the work you do on that thing?? It's like a carpenter with a plastic toy saw, just doesn't work...
