I just did the ol' SeaFoam treatment for the first time and HOLY ****!! It got NASTY as hell behind my car in a heartbeat. I sucked up about 1/2 the bottle (meant to be about 1/3 but whatever) through the brake booster line, then added the other half to my gas tank and topped it off with some premium 91 octane. The ride over to the gas pump was quite entertaining tho

I couldn't see anything through my rear window at all. I left the biggest, bluest, nastiest smoke cloud on my block when I took off and I even saw a little boy on a bike stop and point at me to his mommy haha!! I did have to reset my ECU at the gas pump so I drove around for another 10 minutes until the exhaust cleared up and the ECU/idle settled back in. Needless to say I believe the SeaFoam did its' job and hopefully cleaned up some crap, and will continue to do so throughout this next gas tank of mine.

My plan was to add 1/3 to the vacuum, 1/3 to the tank and 1/3 to my oil (I'm about due for a change anyway) but I ended up sucking up a bit more than I had hoped through the brake line. Oh well, the oil can wait another week anyway since I won't have time to change it until next weekend anyway.

Whats the Seafoam for?? Is that good for it to be smoking like that, don't you normally do that to high mileage motors, kinda like a decarbon. Cars looking great KF.

It's not necessarily for high mileage engines ONLY .. I just decided to do it in order to clean and lubricate things a bit inside the engine. Besides that I've been experiencing a pretty nasty sulfur-like smell out of my exhaust which I thought was coming from my clogged cat, well I replaced my midpipe with a highflow cat pipe instead and the smell is still there so I thought this might help at least a little.

Thanks for the compliments by the way, your car is definitely the sexiest lookin stock P5 I've ever seen as well. I've been doing a lot of little changes lately to transform my car from what I liked when I was 18 vs. what I currently like at 21. It's weird how people's tastes change over the years..

It basically steam cleans your engine on the inside. It's not so much smoke out the back of the car as it is an excessive amount of steam.

Don't let the EPA catch you driving on the street after seafoaming :P

Until now I have refrained from using the netspeak "lol" because I thought it was cheesy. But your post actually did make me laugh out loud.

Thank you very much, yeah you have been doing a lot lately. I'm really hoping to see that turbo on there, I'm really starting to get sick of tired of not having that passing umph. The extra octane and gas mileage I've now knocked off my list, just down to reliability now. But I don't know where to stop, do I just buy a used motor and forge it and 15psi, can get expensive.

^ Yea I hear ya man. I'm just starting to get sick of getting owned by everything on the road. I pull up to a stop light, and get smoked by a mini-van full of people .. I mean COME ON!! The turbo will happen almost definitely but there a couple things I have to take care of first.

1) Need a backup vehicle
2) Gotta wait for nice weather (next spring/summer)
3) MUST do a lot more research on how auto P5's handle being turbo powered before I destroy my daily driver

Back on the topic of SeaFoam .. does anyone remember having any rough idle issues by any chance after doing the treatment? On my way back from work (yea work on Sunday SUCKS!!) it started to buckle when I come to a stop so I dunno if the SeaFoam being in the fuel has anything to do with it. The idle isn't bad, but it'll kinda buckle and skip a beat once every 7-10 seconds. I checked all my vacuum lines and there's no leaks anywhere .. also no CEL for now.

Anyone have the same experience after putting that stuff in their fuel?

Would it be difficult to convert to a manual transmission? Not sure if thats an option. If North America would just let Mazda Japan do their thing and stop cutting our HP's in half we would have ample power. Everytihng JDM is always at least 60HP more on the same models. Even Euro machines are more powerful. I'd actually be happy with 200hp and still have the assurance of an everyday driver. I think if you actually duplicated the MSP it would be just as reliable.

Doing a ATX to MTX swap is hardly worth my time or money. By the time I do the swap I may as well just buy a manual P5 and sell my auto .. cuz I'd probably be better off.

The KL-ZE swap is an option for a reliable 200hp car with no needed turbo, no pressure on the engine, works with an automatic, and doesn't need premium gas.

Just a thought.
