here's a synopsis of my day with my 3rd gen. I went into the garage, gazed longingly at my freshly washed car, and then grabbed my mountain bike to head to campus (only 5-6 miles away).

I headed out, and when I was 2 miles away, I hit a pothole that was so bad it bent my wheel and exploded the tube in the tire. The rupture in the tube was huge, I wasted 3 CO2 canisters trying to fill the tube to no avail. I picked up the bike (it's only 24.something pounds) and ran the two miles back to my house, threw the bike into the back yard, started up the P5, took a quick shower while it warmed up, then drove quickly* to campus.

*where it was safe to do so

well at least my car is ULEV, tailpipe emissions (when not in boost) are cleaner than the urban air here :P

I could pretty much open up a shop out of the back of my car right now. I haven't unloaded it from this weekend where it was intended to be used as a support vehicle at an autocross in Birmingham that got rained out. I've got about 90% of my tools, the race jack, jack stand, 2gal water sprayer, helmet bag, impact wrench, torque wrench, fold out chair, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, etc etc. Of course, that's all in the hatch (there was also my gym bag, overnight bag and pillow in there too over the weekend).

On top of that, I've also got the rear seats down and 4 shaved Azenis RT615s for the Miata to have them mounted tomorrow lol. I srsly need to unload this thing, but I also srsly don't want to, only to have to do it again next week (it's already Wednesday....)

driving back from campus today, had the driver and passenger of a focus sedan stare (jaw dropped) at my car from the time they got in the intersection until they passed me, surprised he didnt rear end someone. Im going with the theory of "OMG I wish I was driving that bright yellow Mazda p5 instead of a sedan that blends in with all the other cars on the road."

Theres a yellow 03 P5 at my friends shop. It looks like the woman has never washed the car and let the car sit out in the sun for 4 years. Paint is so faded the car looks junky.

Definitely gotta do what you can to protect that single stage paint from what I've seen with the single stage Mazdas

I finally washed & clay barred my P5 today. Didn't have time to wax it cuz I had to go to work but I do feel good about finally washing it by hand.

indeed. I was about to drive to Autozone to pick up a new clay bar, but I had to abandon the plans because I felt a single droplet of rain on my way to the garage.

I would normally have at that point taken my bike. My other roommate had taken his bike to campus so I couldn't borrow his :'(

It better not be raining tomorrow, I don't want to wash the car again this week :P

Just got home from picking up some Chinese for my gf (it's her birthday and that's what she wanted). Drove the Pro since it was out and behind the Speed. I mainly drive the Speed now, it's nice to occasionally take the Pro out and enjoy that light weight tossablility. Makes me remember why I put all that time and effort into her.

That's why I love my Pro

Tossable cars are so FTW, I can barely drive other cars now, haha!

put on my catz. its just on stock wiring right now until i get a chance to hook up w/ harness and everything from the kit. if the wires present no problem i may leave it on stock wiring and not bother with re-running the wires the kit came with
