That gives me more hope if I ever decide to actually follow through with the turbomatic P5

very good to hear.

I still aspire to get my engine bay as clean as his is during the middle of winter. If I hadn't seen pics of his car encrusted with salt and other winter grossness you'd swear it never even saw a rainy day.

I'll still trade, you don't have your original engine still --in that regard, you still have quite a bit of catching up to do, no?

I'm still waiting to see how far Mark (Bazooka Joe elsewhere) goes with his turbo (and auto!) P5. thumper kit ftw!

though in reality his car could have blown up and I would have no idea unless he mentioned it on here. *crosses fingers* I sure hope not, it's so pretty
only 55k on the motor

Did it really need to be cleaned at that point? Or did it seem like something fun to do?

The latter. and now I have to clean it out all the time because the prescribed way to clean it at that time (and probably still the way incorrect info persists in most places online) was with very harsh chemicals.

I'm using a dremel with the brush attachment this time.

I have a brand new, never installed, revised EGR valve with a new gasket right here if you're interested...

The revised one that people say still gets gunked up? how much do you want for it? I'm still going to go the dremel route (recommended by a few people on www.TOprotege.com ) and finally clean my IAT (or is it IAC? --the one you need a hollow Torx bit for (T25 I believe))

my idle is rough right now.. like sputtering, not steady, etc. Plus it's doing that thing where the revs drop WAY low as I come close to a stop (in neutral) and as soon as I stop they jump up to normal levels.

almost 92k miles and that thing has never been taken apart (it's just about the only thing that hasn't been).

One Franklin, shipped? Beats onlinemazdaparts.

Most people never have any problems with their EGR valves for the life of their cars.

I've already replaced mine with the revised one. Perfect idle and running condition now.

I just found the part number for the "premium recommended" sticker that goes inside the gas door on MP3/MSP

HG30-69-065

It's $3.80 from onlinemazdaparts.com --make your MP3 ECU or turbo install complete with authentic stickers today!
