I believe it will light up even if it gets no power, as there is an illumination wire that controls that. It's like the lighting circuitry is wired separately from the rest, hence it follows the dimmer control like most other interior lights

DNA tagged my car...killed a mosquito that just bit the hell out of me then realized squishing it against the roof makes a nice blood spot that embeds in the material

Finally had a chance to install my strut bar. But I'm still waiting for the motor mounts.
I haven't driven my car for three weeks!

Sorry, I didn't know exactly where to post this so I figure here would be the ultimate place. I asked J-Protege this but does anyone know where I can find a 1:64 Scale model of a Mazdaspeed Protege or even a Protege5? I mean, it seems like you can go to Wal-Mart and buy a slew of old usless muscle cars, Scooby Vans, Civic Si Hotwheels, even a model Chevy Impala that hops... WTF!!! Please someone explain this to me... Anything, throw me a freakin bone here model makers...

That... is all.

It wasn't exactly a hot item car. You could most likely find the classics like RX-7s and whatnot though.

1/64 is matchbox car sized, right? There is a Protege5 type car around, I've seen pics. Someone bought one and repainted it to match their car. It isn't officially licensed or even branded as a Mazda.

There's a larger scale (1:24) Protege sedan available, but it's like.. the Mazda Family (chinese-spec).

I would pay hundreds (up to 300) to get a kit as high quality as the RX-7 I got .. I think it's from Hot Works

Hey, it's a sweet car, but it wasn't exactly a 'cant keep em on the lot' kind of car. I think that's what I like about it, no one drives them, haha.

You can find a million Mustang or 911 Turbo posters and merch, but nothing for the Protege.

agreed. when i first bought my p5 i was the only one, now we're up to my yellow a red and a silver. but thats not bad for a city of 60k, ford focus's like mad tho, I actually saw a not too bad focus last week, except he had the wingswest mid-wing on that i just cant stand

I'm the only yellow P5 I've seen in my city of 100K over the last 4 years and it feels good I still turn heads left and right, it's a good feeling. Little kids love my car too, I always see them pointing to their parents from the back seats or staring out the window waving at me, etc. But P5's are definitely a rare sight to see where I live .. especially yellow. There was a red one around for a while but it got sold, and I saw a few silver ones just driving through (different county license plates) so I still think I'm the only one..

I always seem to buy cars no one makes replicas of. First my RX-7 (you can get 79-80, and GSL-SE but no 81-85 normal), then my Protege and now the Speed6. I have resigned myself to it. We all know how the aftermarket is for our cars, this is just another indicator of same.

On topic, I stared at my dirty Pro today once the gf got home. Still doing house painting/repairs (last two downspouts painted, patched a crack in my foundation and began to patch around my rear outside faucet). Still have a couple of days of painting to go, it has been brutally hot here over the weekend and I have the red skin to show for it! Still need to pull my lower radiator hose and hit up a parts store to get something straighter in order to install my AWR header without worrying about it being too close.
