About how many years would it take me to install the forged pistons and rods myself? I'd love to do it, but from what I understand it's like $2k to get it done somewhere and that's just...well, a lot when you're looking at spending another $3k on a charger kit.

Oh, and don't most all centrifugal superchargers look the same?

Its not extremely hard, I have replaced them on an old truck before.

Though, I have heard from friends you must be able to do it in a dust free area nowadays because the debris in the engine can cause some serious trouble in a boosted engine.

sorry guys. I won't be able to post for several days....Hurricane wiped me out and we're not going to have power for up to 2 weeks. I'll answer your questions and pm's when I can get back online...hopefully only a few more days.

my home is ok but we're having power problems...it comes and goes and I never know when it'll go out again. We're all ok, just trying to get everything back to normal.

Some fan pics for you WOMP buyers

Just wanted to post these pics to show you guys who purchase this kit one of the neat things you can expect. No fans in the engine bay!! YAH!! No more clutter under the hood. Here's a few pics to show you what it looks like sans blower. This will give you an idea of how much room I have to work with.

you don't see the fan?? I said it's not in the engine BAY...it's there....just not visible! It's actually in front of the radiator...the big yellow thing...

The fan is tiny but flows more air than both of the stock fans combined.

The fan is actually NOT visible...it can only be seen so clearly because of the flash of the camera. I could barely see it with my bare eyes. I think it looks pretty cool but anyone wishing a stealth look can get the fan in black and it will be invisible.

fyi, the fan is reversed so it will blow through the radiator and with the fan on and the car running I can put my hand in the engine bay I can feel the air being forced through the radiator....thats awesome.

Curious, why the AEM Conroller (from research is the Impresa computer with a harness) rather than going with the Haltech E6X? The Haltech seems to do all of the same functions, but is significantly cheaper. Is there anything that the Haltech doesn't do that the AEM unit will that makes it worth the extra dough?
