2003 plug wires

2003 plug wires
Noticed on my new 5-03 the plug wires are different - assume they now have a coil / cyl instead of a central coil pack? Am I correct? What is the advantages / disadvantages to this system. Obviously I can not just upgrade plug wires like before.
