When should we replace the cables and coils in our Proteges? Manual fails to mention any interval. There are really only 2 plug "cables" and 2 ignition coils with attached wires. Would you stick with OEM for these puppies?

sure would. OEM = the best you can get but it's pricey. I'll look in my system to see if I can even order aftermarket coils and I'll post prices and info later next week.

coils shouldn't be changed ever unless they fail. Wires I'd do about every 75K or so...

pay what you're comfortable paying. I would think any OE wire set would be just fine...nothing more, nothing less.

I found wires on ngk's website for $30. Should be here tomorrow for cali. The protege 03 manual says to replace plugs and wires every 30,000 miles. I am at 66,000 and just doing them now.

Whats the address of the NGK plug wires? I think I need to change mine very soon (along with my plugs). Im on 66,500 miles and still have my OEM plugs and plug wires.

I changed my plugs and wires at 49k kilometers. Kept the old ones as backups since they were still in good condition. I just went by the manual for my 01 Protege SE.
