I've heard that the recipe has been pasted in other places without any mention of the amount of work and time this has taken me. :thumbs do Not to mention the number of wheels we've purchased that didn't fit to create this recipe. The recipe stems from real world fitments. It's all good though. As long as people aren't rubbing, right?

Hey, Rishie!! I can't tell you what a relief it is to finally see someone who cares as much about the little things as I do! I worked for a tire store for a couple of years where i really got into proper fitment. It made be a nut about widths, offsets, rolling diameter, etc. Most of the time I see people trying to explain this stuff they screw it all up, and I end up wanting to pull my hair out. I know the trial process is long and tedious, and you deserve many kudos for your efforts. From one fitment guy to another, thank you.

According to Rishie's chart, yes you can. YOu would have to use 205 tires though.

And keep in mind that the thinnest 18" tire is a 215. so from that respect it's a toss up. it's too close for me to tell.

Thanks for the mad props ProtoTex. I really appreciate that. I don't think many realize how many variables are involved with wheel selection as well as weight and so forth. It can be very technical. Being that our background stems from custom fitments via Kinesis, Fikse, HRE, etc... we are accustomed to doing so.

Rishie, I also appreciate what you guys do and I would have bought my rims from you guys but I think I got a killer deal and from the prices quoted earlier on these rims, I don't think you could have done much better. But I will look forward to ording other items from you guys.

I actually have the same tire in 205-50-16 on order from Tirerack (on backorder.) The 225's are available now, for slightly more money.

Will this work on the P5 @ OE ride height? With a RB spring drop (.875 R .75 F)?

I'll stick with the 205's if needed, but would love to put 1.6" more tread on the ground (compared to stock.) :D

Hey Mack,
Why didn't you use the 225/45/16's? This was the setup I was considering for my P5 also.

Just too wide. I checked the clearence between the existing OE wheel / tire and the suspension, it seems a bit tight for a 225 (especially with a 7" wide wheel.)

It might fit, but I'm not willing to be the test subject. :D

The Speed World Challenge touring cars use 225/45 tires, so they will fit.

Good to hear. I'll settle for 205/50's on 16x7's. Maybe my next set of tires I'll give the 225/45's a try.

I will definitely do more research before committing to rim/tire combo. I looked at 225/45 next to 205/40 and they looked huge. If they will fit it will give the car a much more agressive look.
