Elchulo- Why don't you back up your statements? Tell me what technology domestic car makers took from the japanese? Or maybe you don't know. Back up your statements or quit talking ****.

4 valves per cylinder coulpe years ago, thay didnt get to variable valve timing yet they probly trying too copy from somone, how many dohc v8 u see?i know mustang cobra is using now but is year 2002 and japs and germans had it long time ago.First fuel injection was made by bosch and they german and ford uses they parts till now like air flow meaters .Mazda got rotay engine too work. When they started they just got drawings. How many low or ultra low emision cars u see that are domestic.I dont think u can consider 15mpg in city is any close too low emision vehicle that is not talkng about 8 cyl talking about domestic 4 cyl ad v6 cars. Im not talking **** just teling the truth.

OK dawg... u obviously just have no life b/c ur sitting here arguing w/ me about something that is just too clear. I don't know if you just lonely... u need some attention... or ur just a complete idiot (Now that's talkin ****).
As far as i know i didn't talk **** but if u considered that I did before then everyone was talking **** this whole thread.
Ur sitting here telling me that Stangs are all that.... I say no... b/c the US is still catching up to the Jap (and the rest of the world). If US auto makers didn't have a stick up their *** about being American then maybe they would of caught on earlier to the technology that is now spanking them in the ***. Ask Anyone that's not a die hard USA person and knows their ****. Like Turbo1g said,"how many dohc v8 u see?" They wouldn't know what to do w/ a dohc set up!!! It's been how many years since rotary is out and who still hasn't figured it out?
I dont' even know why u are arguing about how good Domestic is over Japs in a Protege Forum!

Lincoln Mark VIII's used the 4.6L DOHC V8 back in the early 90's, I THINK. Thne they used them in the Mustang Cobra's.

...what? American cars just recently went FI? I guess that means everysingle american made car previous to most peoples knowledge have been carb'd.

i knew a guy with a New Body S/C'D Mustang GT, his best time was 14.1

moral of the story: just cuz you have a fast car, that doesnt mean you know how to drive it.

you guys argue over the stupidest ****

nice turbo Protege though, i was wondering what you did, the GTX explains all

Yeah your right American cars are ****. The Japanese make the best cars in the whole wide world. The rotory motor was invented by a real dumb American and lucky for us the really smart Japanese took his design and made it work. I'm also soo glad that the Japanese invented the overhead cam. I guess that the Germans copied the boxer engine thats in my WRX from the Japanese.
This is my tenth post so maybe I do have a life, oh wait you have over 300 post.

Turbo1g-your car seems pretty nice.
I soon hope to put a front mount i/c on my car.
What do you think about NX's i/c cooler?
You were right about Bosch inventing fuel injection, but you are wrong about when American cars started using it.
Look up the 66-67 Corvette 427 fuelie.

Lets be serious and not bs anymore. Just out of curiosity how many top fuel cars do you see out there with DOHC anything? or even nascar? Zip. But I still dont like american cars. But lets not dog on their motor design. I think its pretty great that chevy has been able to keep that ol 5.7 OHV alive for as long as they have. Not to mention it has gobs of power stock and you can mod the hell out of it. But If you must know I have nerver owned one or will I ever. I would rather be in my slow *** mazda driving around town because when it comes to fit and finish we are all over them. My dad has a camaro and everytime we go over a bump I swear ever body panel moves, shakes, rattles, and just about falls off. But hey the drive train is solid. Just my 2 cents. And thats just in case any of you need it.

NX's i/c coller is not bad idea but is a lot of money for it.I looked at it and they around 400$ for that i rater shoot nos into my engine. It will bring temperatures down but if u shoot in to engine it will drop even more.I tought that is inposible when u shoot nos egt drops down. When i instaled nos on my friend talon i droped 100deg.C on exaust mainflod that where is the probe for egt and it also gained power from that.I would personaly prefer wather injection for around same price that is nos i/c cooler and be able too run 20 psi on pump gas.
Im not just jap fan but i would like too see if domestic technolog ia able to put 400hp with turbo and NO RADIATOR (air cooled) and sell the car too public there is only one company in the world, and that is a comany that i give a lot of respect.

"This is my tenth post so maybe I do have a life, oh wait you have over 300 post" And this one is just pointless cuz if you really took the time you would see that I've been here much longer.

DAmn this story is BS

I just came from the mustang crowd. Let me get some things striaght. 5.0 94-95 GT mustang has 225HP stock/ 4.6l 96-98Gt 220hp SOHC(Bad head designand intake) 99-up 260hp SOHC (5speed stock can run a 13.9 1/4, auto 14.5) 96-98 cobra 315hp DOHC 4.6L, 99--02 CObra 320hp 4.6 DOHC (after fix from 99 problem. 13.2) 2003 cobra have 4.6DOHC eaton blower (12 flat stock)with 390hp@390ft lbs. 94-98 3.8L single port mustang have around 150hp 17sec 1/4 for automatic 16.5 5 speed, 99-02 3.8L split port have 190hp (5 speed can run 15.5, auto's 16flat at best) . THese are stock numbers. IN my recent mustang club we have guy running 12.9 with his 99 mustang V6 (procharger supercharger. If someone says they beat a 96-98 4.6L stock Auto, then I will believe them. These are the slow stangs. I was able to beat them in my modded 95mustang until it caught fire. I know I am new here, but some of the mods people list can't make huge gians. As for NOS or othe power adders, can give the our cars quick times becasue our cars aren't heavy. Well I 'll be around. PLus the weight to Hp ratio helps determine times.
