No contest Lancer?

but you are compairing apples to oranges, a turbo lancer and a protege, msd or not is still two totally different cars. made for different purposes. so yes they will be faster. the job is to be faster than them, cuz not everyone will be modded

where did you read that they were 270 hp to the wheels?
my pro is 250 hp to the fly with 20% drive train lose 200hp to the wheels.
the lancer is awd so theres a ton more drive train lose. that car is definitely not over 340 hp to the fly.

This is straight from mitsubishi's site:
"This ain't no video game. This is 100% reality. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is here at last - all turbocharged 271 horsepower of it. That's right...it's the World Rally Championship winner in the flesh. The streets of America will never be the same. Not after you strap yourself in and unwrap what is truly one of the most dominating performance packages ever placed in a four-door. You know the specs. You know the legend. You know the looks. Now see it, and drive it, for yourself. Just one question: who will be your co-driver? "
That 271 hp is to the fly, not to the wheels, no manufactoror ever states hp to the wheels, (they want to consumer to see the biggest and best number) andno way would that want to under rate their car 70 horse power esp when they are competing against subaru their main competetor

they probably did under rate the car...most turbo cars from the factory are under rated..for example there is no way the MSP only rates at 170 hp and only loses 20 hp thru the drivetrain when the ES pro loses like 35 horsepower!!! ...and mitsubishi released their numbers before subaru released the numbers for the STI, so when they released the 271 hp numbers they were a good 46 hp over the WRX which was the competition...factory numbers are rated at the flywheel however and are based on a calculation, not an actual dyno run, thats one reason why numbers on turbo cars are off...too many variables, air pressure and temperature can create big differences in actual numbers....

Evolutionm.net Stock dyno range from 209hp to the highest of 242hp....no where near being underrated.

To try to stay in the Mazda performance category, I have a 94 rx7 twin turbo, specs say 250hp, 0-60 4.9sec and 1/4 mile in 13.5 in some ads and 14.0 in other ads. I wonder what the accurate #'s are. Anyone know if anybody has found more or less crank horse power from the factory. (of course it is not stock after I bought it.)
