The MP3 is NOT limited to 120. I have had mine up a little over 125 (Going Downhill) and it was still trying to go. Needs some mods to get it to the 140 posted on the speedo.

you're right, I'm thinking recent ('99) Si

I suppose the older ones aren't quite as imposing. I guess those guys were all show and no go. With that aftermarket support, it's disappointing they weren't faster. Oh well, good kill.

125mph in an MP3 surprizes me but, I did read that it's ECU was "tweaked". I wonder if the MP3 has a speed limter at all. Well, soon enough I'll get the ecu corksport is making and I'm pretty sure there's no speed limit. But, I don't plan on testing it out.

The 'governor' (speed limiter) was mandatory after '93 or '94 as far as I know, the older cars didn't have a limit on the speed.
If the Si was from Canada, then it's the equivalent to your EX I think, we don't have the 160hp version that's sold here, or we do but they call it SiR I think, or for the new ones SiG, I don't know, never was a big fan of Civics anyways.....

just so you know the first gen pro can go faster than 120mph... i had mine up to 135mph and it was asking for more. i'm not sure about a gov on the si's or the integra. but the other si i was running that beat me was running a 100 shot of noz and we were at speeds of 120. i'm not sure about the other 2 si's or the teg because they were looking at my tail lightsBlue .

you have to be more specific about what model Si you are talking about. if it was the 99-00 Si then i called BS!!!!! I still own my 00 Si and have no problem spanking older Proteges. Face it you sir are a rice lier!

well those Si times you are quoting are magazine times. there are plenty of Si owners that got their cars into the 14s with just an intake. There are timeslips to prove it. But I've also seen some shitty timeslips too. What alot of people forget is that the Si has a great transmission with the perfect gear ratios to make up for its lack of torque. all the horsepower in the world dont mean **** unless you can put it to the ground effectively. Now i dont doubt that there are fast 1st gen proteges out there but with both cars being stock and equal drivers the Si will take the Protege every time.

Yeah but the other day I thought, what if Mazda brought here the Japanese version of their Protege, the 170hp version.....
And what's the J-spec for the Civic Sir? Is it 160hp as well or do they have a better model?

Who cares, the RX-7s kick Acura/Honda a$$ and look better then 99.8% of other cars (Jaguar XKRs excluded of course, and I always mess up the letters in the name)

SiR Civics

The US civic Si and Canadian SiR have the same 160hp engine. However, I believe the J-spec SiR makes 195 like the type R integra. I REALLY want to race a late model Si with mods similar to mine. With the ECU, I think I'd take it.

Anyone notice the Toyota Matrix that's ripping off the Sport 20. My goodness those cars have a bunch of similarities, except that one is sole in the US and the other isn't. Freakin Mazda!

actually the SiR from Japan puts out 170hp while the Civic Type R puts out 190-195hp (somewhere around that area) so lets not bring J-spec cars into this considering that was the EK bodystyle. the new 2002 J-spec civics put out even more horsepower and torque. Why even mention the Rx-7? It had nothing to do with this BS kill story.

the best times for a 99-00 Si are roughly 15.7, but thats almost unheard of at the track. 15.9-16.1 is more the average. A first gen with only a cat-back, and K&N drop-in filter is right around 16.0-16.3.........race is closer than you might think.

I ran a 15.1 in my stock Si. As well as just about everyone I have EVER seen run a stock Si. Sorry, but you should take who ever gave you your information and slap them till your hand hurts cause they're wrong. By the way VTEC is set at 5500rpms on stock Si's not 6500. You launch a stock Si at about 5000 and from there you stay in the power band (Above VTEC) through the entire race. So your statement about only having power after VTEC (which I'm sure is what you meant) is very true yet very effective. Face it the B16A2 is a strong motor from the factory and you are ashamed to admit it. I'll accept your lack of correct retorts, which are sure to come, as your acquiesce with my post. Thank you!

IN that case we'll bring 'em all over. The SkyLine, The Evo7, The Silvia, The J-Spec Civic Type R and the J-Spec Integra Type R. Hell Lets just invite JoJo and Steph over with their drag cars. Com'on man stick to what you can put your hands on.

Hey, you like Hondas, fair enough, I love Mazdas, from Precidias to RX-7s, to my Protege......

RX-7 is look for look the sweetest car made that's under 100,00$ to me. How unique is a Civic/Accord/Prelude/Integra/fill in the blank? The European versions of Mazdas are even sweeter, but anyways I'm saying that the RX-7 looks better then the Skyline, Evos, etc. I do like the new MR2s that we don't have here but they don't compare to the RX-7s.....

I apologize. I mistakenly thought we were talking about speed here not looks. In that case I'll take the NSX.
