killed 2 si's & integra

i was driving down this street near where i live the other day. i was leave a pool hall and drove by this car wash where i saw about 4 si hondas and a couple integras. well i wanted to see if they all wanted to race evon though i thought i was going to lose. so i drove by and reved my motor a little bit. well the next thing i know 3 si's pulled out followed by a intergra. well all pulled up at the light and started reving our motors. the light turned green and we were off. one of the 3 hondas jumped in front and the other 2 and the integra were right next to me. i couldn't belive my eyes as i started to pull away. at about 50-60 mph i was over 3 car length away from them. the other honda was still about 3 car lenghts in front off me but i keeped up with him all the way to a 120mph. come to find out later he had a bottle on his car. the other honda drivers were shocked that a 90 mazda pro lx beat them. the look on their faces was priceless

Sooo.....what are your mods?

jking October-11th-2001 03:45 PM

Hrm.....a 5 lane road (for one direction i'm assuming) that you can reach 120 mph on. Thats kind hard to believe because in order to have a 5 lane road there needs to be alot of traffic and it would be hard to reach 120mph in a heavily traffic'd area.

I'm not saying your lying just kinda wondering.

I'll be the first then... ;)

"BS"

Let's see those mods.

well for one thing it was at night so there wasn't any traffic. and this road has a very very long straight with no cross traffic for a good 2-3 miles. and about mods i have only touched the interior and stereo. that is why i thought it was a little weird that i beat them with a stock lx. but i need to have the car put on the dyno because this car doesn't feel like 145hp. it feels more like 160hp. i know you think this is bs but i'm telling the truth.

How many horsies does a 1st gen have?

mazdaspeedwest October-12th-2001 12:42 PM

first gens have 125HP at the crank, around 100WHP.
Sorry man, No way in hell a stock LX has 145HP or even 160HP.....

I thought i had atleast 145HP with the mods i have untill the dyno proved me wrong.....

i ran 114.7WHP and 108.1ft/lbs of torque. Which loosely translates to about 135HP at the crank.

you can check my site for the scan of the graph printout or in the Dyno and 1/4 mile sub-forum.

My friend has a LS Teg and he beats me everytime we race. He has a new act clutch and a CAI. We cant beat that many cars. hehe.

Ambient October-12th-2001 05:30 PM

I've gotten beat by a 1st Gen 'teg...Steadily pulled away. I could say more for the Si. 163hp stock.

There's no way you'll make me believe that a stock Pro LX beat a decently running Si. Decently running meaning that all their cams were tuned and wasn't just a rolling piece of junk. Now if he had untuned cams or any other host of problems, maybe

About the first gen 'teg that beat me...that was when I had my CAI, Exhaust, Stage 1 Weight reduction and P&P Manifold/TB. I met him again after the cam installation and beat then. But still it's all about mods.

Stock for Stock? No chance.

Ambient October-12th-2001 09:09 PM

I dunno much about them, but I would guess they respond well to mods, much like how good our engines respond to cams.

Anyone know much about them?

mazdaspeedwest October-12th-2001 11:31 PM

Are you sure you mean first Gen...? thats like 84-89, they only had a 2dr hatch version. it's the one that started the whole DOHC thing...with the stickers on the fenders and the little vent like crap in the moldings...ohhhh that sporty look....The FInger

The 2nd gen was a major facelift and also came in 4door versions.
I think they came out new for 1990.

3rd gens are present day teg's. 2dr or 4dr, Hatch or sedan and I think these came out in 1994. (but not tomorrows as the RSX has replaced them)

As for their speed, ya just never know, so run him and find out.

My friend's Integra has 145 hps, and if blueprotege's got 125 then it is possible but requires the other guy sucking and blueprotege being a really good driver/shifter.....

eeterp October-14th-2001 04:24 PM

maybe you beat the 'teg

but the Si's have 160hp. Unless you have an engine swap or nitrous, a 1st gen can't out run an Si. The Si would have gotten you on the top end. And 120mph??? Don't these cars have speed limiters? A 3rd gen protege is limited to 114mph.

but thats the new Si's w/1.6L DOHC VTEC. Earlier Si's had a SOHC and output was rather equal to the Pro at 127hp. Depending on where you live, the coupe was either an EX or an Si. But the Hatchback was just the Si, as far as i know.....
