I like way any well tuned motor sounds. But what I'm getting at is the feasibility of a street driven Civic in the 9's. It ain't happening. At least not yet. The guys you see in the 8 and 9 second FWD bracket are Pro cars. They have chassis and engine designs way beyond what can be used on the road. These cars utilize full tube chassis with carbon fiber bodies, slicks and enough boost to launch the space shuttle. Take the engine out of that 8 second AEM Civic and drop it in a street body with street tires and it's instantly a 12 second car. Have you actually been to an import drag race and seen what it takes to get in the 11's? Last one I went to didn't have a single car break out of the 11's. Most were in the 12's and 13's. The three fastest vehicles out there was a 70 VW Beetle running 10.9's and two snow-mobiles running 10.5's as an exhibition.

If memory serves me Travis's civic has the prelude h23 motor with an h22a vtec head. Some monstrous turbo and totally done internals because he pushed 20 psi. If you take a 200 hp N/A motor and throw 20 in pounds of boost, with a strong fuel system, intercooler and fit it all in a small light car, the car can go mighty fast.

Oh wait, but what do I know? I've read that the AEM civic runs low 8's and may be the first FWD car to ever break 8 seconds. So yes, little **** econoboxes can beat your TT supra, deal with it.
yeah, we may be newbies to this site but we're not newbies to cars, especially honda. you wanna hear something funny?... those dudes with drag h22's blow up their engine every weekend, yes indeed. and i respect those guys because they were actually able to find traction with the use of 30in slicks to propell their cars to high 9's, and btw, the all use nitrous. do you wanna know why they use nitrous?...because it's nearly impossible for a 4 cyl engine to spool a t78 turbo by the time you reach the finish line. i don't give a **** about 8 sec cars that exist, you hear? im pretty sure i know more about hondas than you, because that 8sec h22 civic of papadakis is old news....let me repeat, i don't give a **** about the cars in magazines... im giving ur friend a chance to sell his car to me for $35k. btw, he also says it not a stock frame but it's not unibody...lol..then what the **** is it? plastic?...

what makes it worst is that you guys believe this guy, he has you fooled....shows how educated you are.....btw. let me remind you, all the 9 sec honda's out there utilize wheelie bars, does ur friend drive around town like that?

and also, i never said anything about how fast my supra is. i could name off 100's of buggies and civics that can take it, but trust me, i paid much less than what they invested. $13,500 bitch.

why don't you guys listen to travis's arguments and tell me who's right...he could'nt explain to us how he has 635 dynoed hp and 600wheel hp, that statement alone proves that he's a dumbass.

Gixer, you may be right or not, I personally don't know which, but when you switch to weak flaming like that, especially with slurs.....you just sound less credible. That quote from rodslinger is good ammo, but if you want to be respected and not reviled, speak like a man. I have no patience for weak words.

Newbies? ahahahaha, we're newbies cause we havent posted on your protege forum a thousand times?

The aem civic is as much a civic as john forces funny car is a mustang. Thats a bad way to try to prove your point. Wow a tube framed plastic bodied drag car is in the 8's, what an accomplishment .

So how about that proof.....we're all anxious to hear it.

lol...i really can care less...i'll make sure this guy never posts again. i could understand some bullshit to a certain degree and extent, but when you have a street 9 sec civic, im gone. lets put it this way, ive been building hondas since the day most of these kids were in elementary school. i worked my *** off to make a 14 sec turbo civic. when some kid comes on here, and tells me he built a street 9 sec hatch and cant' back up a single tech scenario that was shot at him, i have no patience. it's like i put all this sweat and money into my hobby, and ended up with less results than a kid that knows nothing about cars... yet all these people are here to back him up because he's a regular of the board. they only wish it was true, but lets face it...it's not...it's the fact that these guys are getting so bigheaded, and the fact that this bullshit just keeps getting worse and worse, that i have just lost it. btw. i apologize for the flames, but if you take out all the "****" and "****" of my posts, you'll see that my arguments are more logical...have a nice day.

Now that's a respectable post. I thought you were 16 at first, but obviously you have some pepper in your tuning hair. You do seem to have a lot of valid points, but also check Traveler's other posts, he is seems quite knowledgable on the subject of cars and tuning. And he isn't a young punk, there is a picture of him somewhere here in offtopic I think. I agree with the frustration that must come with people stretching their times. Why don't we all just settle this with some 1/4 slip times, either posted or whatever. Or some dynos of the engine. That kind of proof would go a long way.

YES, you are newbies by your post count. I don't care how much car experience you got, I'm not interested in having people join this board just so that they can start some useless flame wars.

Where did I say 'WOW Travis, I really believe the 9.5 sec time'???

I never really payed attention to his time, and now we got some little immature kids joining this board telling us how we're 'stupid *******'

What do you think will really happen, is someone going to travel to meet this Travis guy and check out his car?

Hey gixer and Camarodude, come to Milan in Italy, that's REALLY where I live, and I got a 7 second Protege. If it's not true then I'll pay for your ticket via paypal, yeah?

ok, this thread has just turned retarded. i havent been following it, and i don't care to follow it. if travis does, or doesn't have a 9.5 civic... i don't give a crap. who are you (all the newbs to this board) and why are you signing up just to flame this? if you don't like it, don't read it... and if you insist on reading it, don't post your useless and unwanted flaming. this thread will more than likely be closed. we don't care if you sign up here, just post something useful, and don't start flaming people for what they post. chill out.

and if you don't like how i responded, while im trying to inform you the real stuff..then you also don't have to read it. you guys don't understand when someone's trying to show you the facts, you act like we're here to discourage ur cars and diss on ur **** when all we're trying to do is show you the proven facts.
