I see that we have acquired some visitors. It seems you guys are not as knowledgeable as you would like people on this board to think you are. Why don't you head on over http://www.houston-imports.com and go tell st00pid that a streetable civic can't run 9's I do not however have a scanner, nor a Digital camera, so I can't give you proof, so flame away. The fact is I can see it in my driveway and I actually took it out tonight thinking of you guys Here is a direct link to an movie, I am sure you domestic guys have already seen it, its rather old, but soon after that video I was talking to st00pid and he was in the 9's with full interior, and the hatch was his daily driver, oh wait, thats impossible cause a few guys hop on here and say

I consider this thread dead, so you trolls can head back to whatever forums you came from, thank you, and have a nice day

Baaahahahaha, what i cant believe is how people are so ignorant and misguided in the automotive world. For the people that actually believe this guy has a daily driven civic that runs 9.5 without nitrous, please slap yourself numerous times in the face. This really bothers me because as the interest in motorsports grows amongst young impressionable kids, this type of ignorance is spread like a disease. It seems every 16 yr old in a vtec civic thinks theyre driving a race car and not the little econobox turd that it is.

So has your car been featured in any magazines yet? Surely it wouldve caught someones eye being a *ahem* daily driven civic that runs 9.5. So what kind of 60 ft times are you pulling? 1/8th mile? Trap speed? You must be going through transaxles like crazy right? Im sure you know what point roll cage is mandated for cars that run that speed, right? Maybe im just babbling but the whole fast an furious wannabe racer stuff has gotten out of hand, and you my lying friend is just spreading the ignorance.

P.S. if youre in the southern california area i have a daily driven camaro that wants a piece of your civic, i dont have a E.T. for it yet but im sure its not anywhere close to your spectacular time, c'mon i got $500 on the table.

omg you ******* bonehead....did you read what i wrote?... it's tech talk right there for you, you don't even need a camera or scanner, just prove to us you know what ur talking about.frankly, that's impossible cuz you have nothing to say. all you did was post a few links that shows some bullshit showcars....where the **** is that 9 sec street civic you mentioned on that site?..i cant' ******* see it cuz it's not there. you think we don't know hondas?...boy ur wrong.

my previous cars include:
1992 civic ex (turbo) yes indeed turbo: that was a low 14sec car with more mods than you can dream.
1995 civic ex, my daily ricer mobile
1995 prelude si: i totaled this bitch before i even got started
1998 eclipse gsx: enough mods
2001 s2000: sold because it's a bitch car.

as you can see, im not a honda hater...

if you can at least explain one of those "bullshit" situations ...i'll leave you alone.... the fact is, you don't know **** about cars... you told us that you have a car that's dynoed at 635hp but has 600whp, wtf is that ****?... please elaborate. and yet you say we're not knowledgeable... ,

and since you don't have a digital camera(strange how you can afford all that bullshit and not afford a camera or scanner), i'll give you a chance to prove urself... give me ur home address and i'll gladly fly over to ur hometown and buy that 9'sec street civic off of you...here's a better deal, since it's such a rare species, i'll sell my bike and supra and pay you 35 grand. you have my word...does that sound good?... that's only if you actually have what you claim...but if i go over there, and all this is bullshit(which it obviously is, you have to buy me a plane ticket to fly back...im so serious...email me ur phone number....and if you don't wanna pay for my ticket after i blow ur cover, then i'll just have to beat ur little riceboy ***...

the problem here is that you live in ur own little world where honda's defy gravity...if you were twice as smart as you are now...you'd be absolutely stupid.

well maybe he was exaggerating to get the point across that it's a fast car hehe, I don't know.....
9.5 seconds seems attainable in a Civic only if you're racing in that video game, Nitto racing

well there's lots of guys that signed up with this board just because of this one topic.... hope you guys stick around

in any case, this thread doesn't seem to be going nowhere

I don't know. That could be a corrected time depending on where he was running. I figure a 14.5 sec quarter minus 1 sec for each inch of muffler tip diameter. A 5 inch tip will put you in the 9's easily.

Wow these newbies are nuts. They attack like wild dogs because they can't stand the idea that a civic econobox beats their silly, expensive supra's, etc...

If memory serves me Travis's civic has the prelude h23 motor with an h22a vtec head. Some monstrous turbo and totally done internals because he pushed 20 psi. If you take a 200 hp N/A motor and throw 20 in pounds of boost, with a strong fuel system, intercooler and fit it all in a small light car, the car can go mighty fast.

Oh wait, but what do I know? I've read that the AEM civic runs low 8's and may be the first FWD car to ever break 8 seconds. So yes, little **** econoboxes can beat your TT supra, deal with it.

I don't think they are nuts, just a little more realistic. 20psi on an h22a isn't going to net you 600hp unless it's turning about 20,000rpms. It's also definately not 9.5 sec on a steel body car with nothing more that gutted interior and some drop springs. Secondly, to run those kinds of times you MUST have a roll cage, NHRA license, scattershield on the transmission, etc... Open your eyes too. Build the Supra in the same manner as the AEM Civic (tube chassis, fiberglass body, etc...) and now it's in the 7's. You're not comparing things in the same class. If you want to compare drag cars, compare it to Darrell Aldreman's Dodge Neon. It's ONLY a Neon. That should make for a good race.

-edit- And why would you need 'totally done internals' to push 20psi? Any old Chrysler 2.2 or 2.5 can hold over 20psi stock and last 100,000 miles doing it. That doesn't sound like miracle advance in technology to me.

I think shawn has it right.... hell...
in my town, there is of course the local streetracing club, which is kind of stupid... but there are some fast as cars that i see daily driven! and im not talking ferraris or anything, though there is a 10second supra here in town (10.6 with 150shot of nos, and mid 11s with out nos, he ran nos once on it.. thats it)... then the kicker that sounds like travis's story...

there is a 1997ish Dodge neon...looks like regular riced out neon with the body kit, stupid wing, and some nice wheels (sure it looks great).... and then you pop the hood and about crap your pants, this guy runs some insanely large turbo of a big truck or something (dont remember the full story of it).... but he has a very built up engine with out nos and will run a 9.9 second 1/4 mile.... this is with a turbo and built up engine.... on nos nothing, and this guy drives it daily, hell he roars by my damn house with his loud *** fart muffler every morning at ~8....

so i see no reason why travis's civic couldnt be pullin 9s... especially with that engine, and that car..... but hey even if it doesnt that would be possible in a civic hatch that is daily driven

isnt there a guy with a mx3 that runs some insane 1/4 mile time, and runs 20lbs of boost on a FE3 engine or whatever, and uses it as his daily driver?

**** guys, you gotta think before you just start raisin the bs flag....

oh well though, im sitting with my 16 second P5, if i can even hit 16s...lol, and im happy so its all good

oh just another quick comment about the race car comment

i guess alot of honda drivers really like their civic because of the engine sound, once you get up in those high rpms, these engines just sing.... sounds like a race car....

ill definately say honda has worked out the sound of their engines

Don't you know there is already a focus that has broke 8's? and a number of Ford probes.
