GET an Eclipse!!!
Maybe the Eclipse didn't make the list because it is not a sporty car

It is the 21st century equivalent of the Datsun 280ZX- a heavy, soft boulevard cruiser gussied up to look like a sports car. Like the 280ZX, it is only a shadow of the lighter, fastier, sportier, quicker, much cooler car it replaced

All IMHO of course. Am I making myself look old by making this comparison?

Hey, I think you mean the 280ZX, not the 280Z. The 75-78 280Z is a 1st-gen Z-car, although they *are* heavier and slower than the early 240Z. The 79-83 280ZX is the redesigned, fattened-up "luxury coupe". However, you are right about what I meant in my original post

Yeah, but you can't knock the looks of the Eclipse...

And they're certainly in the range that the guy was looking at. And they ARE sporty, especially when compared to Civics and Accords.....

A lot of you guys are biased because you've got mazda's. The type-R is the obvious best buy of the group.

The RX-7 is freaking fast, but with the miles mentioned at the beginning of the thread I don't know....
something to think about.......

and I don't think that we are that biased here.......well maybe a little, but I try to be as open minded as possible..........
