I would go with the 6.

But, It's sad how most of you guys talk about crappy Ford quality. You do realize that the Duratec V6 in the 6s is a Ford unit with a little bit of work on the head, right?

If by a "little work on the head" means a completely different head, then yes

Sorry, but by the amount of people on here saying that Ford is crap it doesn't sound like anyone could fix their flaws.

Well, we are import drivers, and imports are always superior, right?

Even if there will be reliability issues with the 6, it's still too early to tell. Once you get 30k+ on the car, we'll see what's up then.

my parents have owned 3 americans in the past 15 years (2 being ford) and they are just poor quality. Their ford windstar is on it's 3rd engine and 2nd tranny. Still it sounds like it's fallin apart. There prolly are very good domestics out there but after the hell of warrantee repairs and thousands dumped into cars that bearly turned a decade old is pathetic and I will never own a domestic.
