The only Cobra I'd consider is the '03. I've owned 2 5.0s and a '00 Z28 and I know how fast they are. But after you've driven them a zillion times and gotten used to the speed, you start to see the real picture and how these cars are basically pieces of junk. Yeah, the speed will excite you initially but the 'stangs are all engine and not much else.

i will always love huge V8's. Especially my dream Z06. But it's always cool to see some bum in his stock GT or Cobra get smoked by a sentra or CRX. It doesnt make the car look bad but the driver gets immasculated are the drive of shame is funny.

I will tell all of you people that call the Mustang Crap that my 2002 Protege has half the miles my 1999 Mustang Does and the Proetege has 2 times as many rattles as the my Mustang Does.

For those of you who say the Mustang is nothing without the V8 go to Kenny Brown's website and look at his 4.2L V6 Club Racer Mustang. Will outhandle most cars that cost 2 times as much. The V6 weights less then the V8 which gives it closer to a 50/50 weight distribution. All it takes is a few suspension mods and they handle supprisingly well.

If it were not for all the people that drive the V6 Mustangs then Ford would have pulled the plugs many years ago. Same thing with the Mazda RX-7. If it would have sold it would have been produced longer. Now it is time for the RX-8 to try to fill a market niche for Mazda to (guess what) MAKE MONEY. Those of you who think car companies are in it for anything but money are full of crap. It takes money to run a company.

Yeah. We never said they did it for anything else. We have just expressed our opinions of the mustang. Most of which just happen to be negative.

Problem is that mustangs off the lot don't come like the Kenny Brown version and it costs dinero to make them peform like that. Protege's are sweet right out of the box. Not to mention Kenny Brown's Mustang is still a Mustang.....which means its junk. And Mustangs ARE nothing without a V8.......hearing the rumbling V8 is what it's all about with stangs.....otherwise buy something else.

Well, that settles it. Mazda just can't make a top notch rattle-free vehicle like them ooozing with quality '99 Fords.

you are trying to hard to put down a mustang. i think the only way to gain appreciation for any car is to own it.

03 Cobra or walk! I'd rather have the 6 than a Mustang GT.

The day Mazda manages to put together a block as good as the 4.6 or 5.0 then you can start strutting about all the great Mazda quality. I've yet to see a Ford V8 blow an apex seal. And I hate how much of a rattle box my Pro has been, it always seems to want to find a new way to make noises.

(Forgot to toot my own horn, can't forget about the bulletproof 5.8L 351 Windsor blocks)

Well I've only owned 2 5.0s. Below is the last one I sold. And it had an AWESOME engine and sounded incredible with all the mods I did to it. But the car drove like a monster truck and was a dinosaur in comparison to today's technology and engineering.
