I just want to say that the Mustang GT's 4.6 V8 has one of the most intoxicating exhaust sound I've ever heard

The relatively affordable nature of this car, coupled with it's power, make it appealing to many people who place their absolute emphasis on horses and nothing else, as well as those who have no frame of reference in knowing what a truly great vehicle delivers. Mustang is largely riding on historical hype rather than real excellence.

I'm far too demanding, practical, and perspicacious to buy otherwise.
That couldn't be more true. Most of the public don't have a clue. They purchase cars like blind sheep.

It reminds me of how a friend kept mentioning to me in awe that this girl he works with bought a red camaro convertible.....like it was such an awesome vehicle. My reply was the rudimentary, "Oh, she bought a big red POS?" He of course didn't even know if it was a V6 or V8 and turns out that it was just a V6. It's sad that people are so uninformed about cars that the words "camaro convertible" can instantly make someone equate it to a superior vehicle when it's actually quite the opposite.

And Perspicacious?? What do you think? We're all Mensa club members too?

It's nothing compared to what my '92 5.0 sounded like with a 2.5" MAC cat-back and high-flow H-pipe. It made a stock 4.6 V-8 sound like a baby. Unfortunately, that was the car's best attribute.

Thumbs up mazda6

i would get the mazda 6. it's more sophisticated car.
excellent suspension,chasis, interior,handling,looks good
the mustang is not practical and only houses 2 people ,
the interior has a that cheap gm look and the car is not reliable.

Mazda 6

I have driven both of those cars and I love the Mazda 6. I am 6'2''
and I barely fit in the mustang and I have had friends that have had a lot of trouble with the stang. Plus like everyone here says they are totally different cars so much more room in the Mazda6

Yeah, the new Mustang looks like a kick, but the base models will still lack the indep. rear suspension. I haven't heard word yet on whether the GT will get one, but if it does it will be one badass car. The 4.6L is a great motor.

I don't know about the reliability, but the Camero convertible is a great car if you never carry more than 2 total. I got to rent one for a couple weeks and it was great. 200hp and rear wheel drive. Had to drive from San Diego to Phoenix. Coming out of Phoenix with the top down, a/c on, and cruise set at 85, life couldn't get much better . Plus it got around 35 mpg at that speed. I was impressed. If I was to actually own one, I'd opt for the V-6. Oh well back to subject. If you're young and single get the MSP. If you're married and old get 6. If you are really old and going through that mid-life thing get a Porsche.

mustang...

it's a much cooler car... plus you can get a drop top and it's rwd... wheeeeeee!!!!

EDIT: ford has great interiors... it's gm that is ****... mustng is no where near gm quality in sh!ttyness. have you sat in one... it's nice! plus all the technology is old skool... the 4.6 is the first overhead cam engine... till then it was all pushrods! how cool is that! and as someone mentioned... it's a live rear axle... old skool style...!

EDIT EDIT: and mustangs are pretty reliable. i know a bud who has a boxy 92... still runs strong. the old skoolness makes them bulletproof. the technology is tried and true. i have a few friends who are chevy guys and gals (i am a chevy guy myself) but when it comes to pony cars.. .the mustang is just a nicer and more fun car. the camaero or firebird or vette is a lil hairy and sketchier and rattles more. the mustang is slower but more composed and more refined. i know refined is not a ponycar plus, but still is nice to know it won't rattle itself apart like them harleys do... but to each his own. i choose a stang over the mazda6... but i choose a p5 over both... and the new yamaha r1 over all 3!

i'm hoping the new GTs will. i'm trying to determine that.

the '05 will be at the top of the list when my dad replaces his 96 gt vert if it measures up to the advance info.
