Question Hyundai Elantra GT

Hey everyone--

I'm not heading out to buy it or anything, but am curious what everyone else thinks about this car.

There's one in my neighborhood and every time I go by I have to admit being impressed. Personally, I think it looks cool (resembles a Saab), it comes with all the options (including leather), apparently drives quietly, etc..

Hyundai quality continues to be a real concern, though. If it had an established record of reliability I might have actually considered it...

Am I insane, or does this car really look cool?

Uhh, I don't think you're quite as crazy as craigrrrp, apparently. I don't think they look good, but I don't think they look *that* bad. I hate leather seats, though, and I'm not yet prepared to trust a Hyundai.

SAABs are my favs. I first saw the Elantra driving down the road. My head head spun round cause I thought it was a SAAB. I was in the pursuit to buy one, but a friend of mine had a rough time trying to get one through a bad dealer. Then I realized I could never buy a Korean car. I love the styling though.

I must admit the new Tyrbion's, look much better than the old one. I ESPECIALLY love the dual exhausts... any car with dualie's do it for me!

I think they look good, but if your out for a car for you, I would go for the new tiburan if it has to be Korean. SportsCompact mag gave it mad props!!

I saw one of these up close at Wally World yesterday afternoon....it actually looks pretty good.......however.....how many little cheap toys that you find broken 5 minutes after you give them to a kid have "Made in Korea" sticker on the bottem....LOTS I am with Craigrrrp....just not wild about their track record.

The Elantra GT got good reviews in the car mags, not so for the Tiburon. As for SCC, I wouldn't regard their opinions too highly.

I have to agree with you on that one! Nice looking car (see pic below... drool...)

As for the GT Elantra, YUKK!!!!! Can you say '70s???? It looks like a car made in the '70s IMO!

In any case, I think they're pretty ugly... Accent looks better then the Elantra
