here is my mazda 3 reliability

I have a mazda 3s 2007 sedan.

Just got back from the dealer to look at the check engine turns out it is an 02 sensor and they have to order it because apparently they don't want to keep any in stock. Also told me that if the threads come out with the sensor I need a new cat. BS - I can strip threads in my back yard this is why I take it to the dealer.

Second they said right front motor mount has failed. I had the original replaced at 46,000 miles 4 years ago. This is BS too. We have to replace motor mounts every 4 years on this car. Why is it the same motor mount. Sounds like to me a design issue.

I have owned quite a few cars and I have never had to replace a motor mount on any of them. Our civic we traded in had over 150,000 miles and it never needed a motor mount. This is a dam safety issue mazda. Motor mounts are not suppose to fail every four years otherwise the dam engine will come through the dash. Why is the same one that keeps failing? Why haven't the others failed?

Way to zoom zoom. You can watch your engine zoom zoom right on by as you coast to a stop.

I have a feeling this may be the last mazda we will be buying unless mazda stands up and starts taking responsiblity. Just like I have paid for repairs when I had to and it was an item that was my responsibility. Motor mounts should last more than 4 years.

I don't want to hear go buy aftermarket and put in a better motor mount. I work full time and I don't have time to be monkeying with cars so they can be driveable. I have babied this car and have used the best fluids and was planning on giving it to my daughter to drive through college but at this rate it won't make it past her high school years.

Way to go mazda. All the magazines ratings are BS too by they way.

Glad to see that quality has improved over my 2004. I love driving my Mazda3, but of all the cars I've had over the last 40 years, it's been the least reliable, least durable and most expensive to maintain. It was driven gently and well maintained until I just gave up. I think I'm on my 6th or 7th wheel bearing at $350 or so apiece. Fortunately it's rusting out so badly due to poor corrosion protection and bad paint that it won't last much longer. I just this minute came in from replacing a headlight and had forgotten what a miserable design the bulb clips are. It bothers me that this car was marketed to young people (I'm not one of 'em) as a fun economical vehicle. Fun, sure, but they had better have had a very good job to afford the maintenance. No, I will not be buying another Mazda.

LoL - yeah I replaced both bulbs in the headlight and replaced both taillights twice.
The bulbs do suck with that goofy spring design. I am just putting the best fluids in it I can and hope we can get another 50 to 60 thousand miles out of it. Mine isn't rusting but the maintenance is expensive. It eats tires every 20 to 30 thousand mines which is insane IMO.

Probably my last post here. The expense of repairs got to be too much, with the latest inspection going to cost about $1k just to keep the thing on the road. No way. The car made it 149k miles, IMO a poor showing in this day and age. I loved driving it when everything was right, but I just traded it in on a used Hyundai. They even gave me $200 for the 2004 Mazda3!

I am also thinking of replacing mine with a Honda. The parts are cheaper.
