Fastest 1st gen automatic proteges

It was actually an 18.1 at 78 MPH. Car is decent right until half track then things slow waaaaayyy down (thanks to the SOHC). I manually shift the car and make it to the finish line in second gear at around 6200RPM. What did you expect from a est. 110hp at the crank ?!! So that is my reason for focusing instead on some auto-x. It's less about the car and more about the driver.
I'll have high 17's this year (hehe 17.99998...), especially with the clean tranny fluid (just had it pressure flushed). It made a huge difference I'm sure I'll see at the track. I'll run my stock 13's as well since they weigh substantially less than the 2000ES rims I ran the time with last year. No the car isn't fast, but I am never the slowest car so I just have fun with it. My traps are 5-7 MPH slower than Wils manual DOHC, and my ET's are .5 sec slower than some manny P5 times I've seen posted.
For ***** and giggles, Wil and I switched cars at the track last Oct. and Wil managed a 19.5 or some ****. Was pretty funny actually!! It's tough to drive the auto tranny fast, so you have to practice.

Sometimes it's not about how fast the car is.....it's how good the driver is and by looking at your times i'd say you are pretty good..
keep it up and keep us posted when you take your pro to the track again.....

I'm actually real consistent (under 2 tenths and 1MPH, all while cracking sub .6sec RT's)and could probably do pretty well in the brackets..but it seems like here in the MD,VA,DC area that EVERYONE and their mother shows at 1/4 to run what they brung! I mean they bring the family minivan, SUV, tractors, horse and buggies...I don't bullshit you when I say it can take 5-8hours to get a measly four runs in. As much as I'd like to stick out a bracket race, I can't say I'm that hard up for 50 bucks!!!
Enter Auto-X. I think I'm gonna have a blast this year with it. But I am gonnA get that damn 17.9999888 timeslip damnit...FULL INTERIOR BOYS!

I ran 2 weeks ago and i got a blazing 17.76@79 mph at Famoso Raceway. I also down shifted to second taards the end of the track because it almost seems like the car hits a wall after 60 mph. I have a intake, exhaust and unorthodox underdrive pulleys. I lauched form a stand still, but next time i will try to launch at different RPMs. I will problably go agian in a month or so.

pulleys
Hey jay what kind of pulleys do you have??
And have you had any problems with your car since you have had them?
Are they worth the money??
Do you have a stereo system in your car???
