Approximate cost/troubles for organizing

An auto-cross event? I heard of a few unused runways here in the area. Just wondering if anybody would know the approximate cost of organizing one of these auto-x events. What else might pose a problem?

How many people usually show up for them? How many would be needed to break even, etc.

Well I'm just inquiring since there's no auto-x events that I know of, and we could easily get ~90 people for it. Protege and Subaru clubs, plus my friends, and other people's friends, and I'm sure that there's a few PseudoRealityX's here in Vancouver that would skip their child's birth to participate in an event hehe

I have a really, really, REALLY hard time believing that there's not an active autocross club already in your area. There are cities in Texas with 1/4 the population of Vancouver that have active clubs (Bryan/College Station, Tyler, etc.)

Keep looking. You will have MUCH better luck with an experienced club than trying to set up an event yourself and convincing someone to let you use their site. ("Yeah, I've never raced in an autocross, never been to one, and I've never even seen one, but I've read a lot about it on the Internet and I'd like to race with all of my friends on your property and I promise I won't sue.")

you could expect to pay about $2500-5000 per day for a full event, maybe $500-1500 for a small practice area.
