Dry kits tap into your intake piping in one spot and are usually used for 75-80 shot (I know a kid using a 150 shot with his ZEX dry kit, but the engine will probably blow soon). they do not mix the N2O with fuel, it uses the cars stock injectors to keep the stoichiometric balance. A wet system drills into the intake manifold near each cylinder and mixes with fuelbefore entering the cylinder. Wet systems are considered safer beacuse each cylinder recieves roughly the same amount of N2O. Wet shots can also go up to 500+hp, depending on the application (I don't know of any four bangers using a 500 shot, but top fuel dragsters with V-8's have been know to use them. I'm sure if I missed something, someone else will point it out. hope this helps.
Oh, the price for a dry kit is $400-$800 and can be installed by yourself, wet kits start at $700 and go up from there. Wet kits are usually installed by professionals, but I'm sure Eric might argue that anybody can do it at home .
And you get them filled at performance shops, email any of the nitrous kit manufacturers for local filling stations.

Johnny, considering what they have said so far bout teh 3rd gens, its cool taht they can have a stock engine with nos...i guess are lil BP engine needs to be moded for Nos.

Close, but not quite. A dry Nitrous kit sprays only nitrous through the nozzle(s). It can have almost any HP rating, and can have one or more nozzles that spray nitrous. The term 'dry' comes from the fact that Nitrous is released as a gas, not a liquid. A wet kit taps into the fuel lines in order to spray both nitrous and fuel through the same nozzle(s). It also comes in many different HP ratings, and can have one or more nozzles. The term 'wet' comes from the fuel being sprayed in liquid form. A direct port nitrous kit uses at leat one nozzle for each cylinder. The multiple nozzles help spray an even amount of nitrous into each cylinder. A direct port kit can be either dry or wet.

Whether a stock engine can take N2O, not NOS, depends on the strength of the internal engine components, and on the amount of nitrous being sprayed. The 1.8L BP is a very strong engine and can handle the same amount of N2O as the FP/FS engine, if not more.

See, I told if I missed something, there are 20 people that would know the right thing. Anyway, I'm getting colder plugs for my setup, how will that affect normal driving (hp, gas mileage, etc.)?

For Craig

Hi Craig

Do you have any timing retard during nitrous? Did you change the spark plug gap ? I am still using 0.040" with 3 degrees retard (60HP)

ok... it took me forever and a ******* day to get it in. but.. it's in. 55 shot of nitrous via zex. well, i'll take a lot of pictures for a simple "how-to" tomorrow. I was afraid to flip the switch the first time, but I did it just to see how it felt when activated to get a feeling for it. Then, I was like wow! Amazing enough, my car attracts races... so, this civic pulls up, and i smoked em. lmao. then, this older gti pulls up and wants to race. so i smoke him. anyway, thanks to Craig, Eric, Ben Dean, Greddy and Mitch for all their help in my install and getting me the products I need for it in a timely manner. yay!

Congrats Mike, I'm glad you like it. Be careful though, I hear N2O can be addicitive.
