How about the BP or the SOHC? Same bottom end as the BPT. Can they handle it as well?

ZEX INSTALLED!! OH YEAH BABY!!!

hehe...It is not as much as I hoped for, but it still kicks a$$!!
I am running 55 shot, it really give the car a nice boost of speed.
I toasted a camero and a mustang(I don't think they were racing, but who cares..hehe). It is very nice.
This just kinda gives me a since of how adding 55(NA)HP to my car will feel. It feels pretty good.
I would say that if we add 65whp to our cars, then we should be set.

Pretty awesome stuff man. Looks like a nice, clean job too.

Does the car still feel very stable and capable on the road while spraying?

Okay... So on the pictures I can see you have the arming switch. You paid $450 for that kit, how much was the regular price if you didn't go through that group buy with probetalk.com? Also, what does that kit include?

If you installed it yourself was it hard?

You said that now you know how it feels to have +50HP...does every shot count as +1 HP? You have a 50 shot bottle and you said that it gives you 50 more HP.

hehe this nitrous stuff is cool, but I thought that it would give you more than just 50HP. When I get my protege and get my engine swaped to a BPT then I'll be thinking of getting one of those. hehe think about it, nitrous+boost controller+turbo engine+cat-back exhaust+cold air intake+larsenmotorsports header+larsenmotorsports downpipe+performance ECU= really fast car.
What do you guys think with those things a BPT engine's HP and torque be at?

Ok...The kit cost me $430 shipped to my door through the group buy.

If you don't have a group buy deal then it will cost anywhere from $499 to $550, depending on where you get it.

It comes with everything you need to run the N2O. (Although the guys that put it in for me had to buy some longer fuel line hoses because of the lack of space in my engine bay they were limited on where to place the control module). Other than that it was all there.

I didn't put the kit in myself because I didn't feel like I knew enough about N2O to mess with it, but if you are good with your hands it did not look that hard to do. I watched the guy put it in. You can do it if you feel like it, just be careful and follow all of the instructions. BTW...I paid $115 to have them put it in. So you decide yourself. I thought it was worth it.

The kit comes with 5 jets. You can either go with a 55hp shot, 65hp shot, or a 75hp shot, depending on which two jets you choose to use(there is a formula on the back of the instruction sheet that tells you what two jets to use for the different hp shots)You have a fuel jet and an N2O jet.
This means that the spray will increase your hp by about that much. I am running a 55hp shot, so that means I feel about 55 more hp everytime I spray.

This kit sprays everytime you hit WOT. Which means everytime you mash the gas(with the arming switch on) you are spraying.
It really is a NICE kit. I love it.

Since I don't want to do any feul upgrades, I am running the 55hp shot for now. Our 2.0L fuel system will not handle anymore than that safetly.

BTW...Does anyone know if there is a way to retard the timing in a distributorless engine, without having to purchase an ignition system? If I could find a way to retard my timing then I could probably run the 65 shot, although it might be pushing it past safe operation.

I will have more pics later. I just got a new digital camera, so they should be a whole lot better than that stupid JAM CAM I have.

BTW: how many 50 shots could u run with one bottle full? I might get a zex kit from a freind of mine who can get them for $350, but i'm not sure yet.
If you can get the complete kit for $350 YOU BETTER GET IT! hehe
That is an awsome price!

About how many runs you can get, I have ran about 10 times so far, it just all depends on how long you spray. With the ZEX, it is all cotroled by the throtle, so when you arm the system and hit WOT it sprays. You can spray as little or as long as you like.

If you can get the system for 350 can you get that deal for anyone.

I was alos wondering what the install cost is on something like this. How many actual labour hours are involved.

Uh...I paid $115US And it took a while for the guy to put it in, almost 4 hours. But he did do a good job and I am happy with everything.

You paid to have someone install a ZEX kit? If you guys are going to be car enthusiasts, you need to spend some of that installation money on tools and dive in yourselves. You're missing half the fun.

hehe, my dad and I have all the tools. Whole shop full, be never takes his car to shop or have anyting at all done. He is 100% do it your self guy. I help him out a lot of the time, and I know sometimes its not that fun. But yea, its worth it even if its not fun. You save a lot of money for a lot more tools and mods for your protege.

I was going to put it in myself but I felt I didn't know enough about N2O to not mess it up. I have heard alot of horror stories about N2O and I guess that made me unsure. Oh well.

You know I'm just teasing, besides, there are many others in here that don't do any of their own work at all. I just don't trust anyone else to work on my car. After you guys have some bad experiences, you'll be motivated to learn for yourselves. I wish you the best of luck, but in my experience, it's inevitable to run into inferior work or price gouging, and probably both unfortunately.
