Zex Is Here!!
very addictive from what i hear... but i have the will-power to not abuse it. i'm a casual N20'er... and i didn't inhale.. i swear. it feels good on the street.. i've smoked a few cars already. the car didn't seem to like it much at the track, but on the street... i've got quite the kill list now.
no traction problems at all. i wasn't spraying in first. my times dropped... it's just colorado really sucks for performance it seems. i saw a stock p5 run an 18.4, and i've seen guys post about them at lower altitudes getting around mid 16's. :/ i dunno. still feels good though when spraying, nice and smooth power gain.
actually, i'm trying to figure out this fuel jet thing. i just pulled all my plugs and from the looks of it, i'm running rich. in the instructions, it says if you're running rich, switch to a larger metering jet for the fuel delivery. why would i switch to a larger jet? i'm sure it makes sense, just not to me. hehe. help me out a bit. :] i've got a 36 in there for the fuel jet right now... so what would i switch to?
Thats the best part of nitrous system and also the coolest part. I can not tell you the best jets for your set up because I use different nitrous kit (NOS) and also my engine is smaller than your (1.5L). Also you should consider all mods you have done so far. I am running 42 in the jet fuel and 36 in the nitrous jet.
As soon as you get some 40 bucks, go ahead and buy an air/fuel gauge. Its not a very accurate device to tune your nitrous but can give you a big help. Next, buy some timing retard (MSD, etc) just to make sure you are safe and also to allow run big shots ~75.
I wouldn't agree with bigger size jets to make your car runs more lean... There is something weird with that assumption.
One more thing, if you are going to use your nitrous very often, I would also reccomend you gap your plugs 0.030".
Now, just go ahead, buy some different sizes jets (28-42) and start playing with it! ALWAYS RUN BIGGER FUEL JETS WHEN COMPARED WITH THE NIROUS JETS, even though at 55 shot we have gas enough from the stock, when at WOT.

Later,
There is a site that can help with the set up for jets sizes although I didn't like the fuel jets calculations...Anyways:

and if you're worried about it... you should do what i did (had to do to run it at the track) ghettofy a blow-down valve. the disc on the back of the neck (opposite the nitrous line) on your bottle is for when it's over-pressurized. i had to buy a 5/8" heater type hose and put it over that and run it outside of the car. i put it through the same rubber grommet underneath the spare tire where i ran my nitrous line. this is so incase your bottle does let all the nitrous out, it doesnt fill the car and kill you.
My boy (1fatEs) and I got Zex for his Protege and we love it. It makes qa huge difference in performance. I highly recommend purchasing the Zex Spark Plugs when you get your kit. We noticed that the car runs much better with them, normal spark plugs don't last very long cause they run too hot.
