Someone's Kickpanels over on E-Ebay

Decent enough looking set of Kicks for the 01 up Protege are posted over on E-Bay right now...
Note that this auction is not for the speakers, just the panels.
Stated to be for a three way set up- as near as I can comprehend like this- 6&1/2 in the stock door location, then the 4 inch in the pod, along with the one inch tweeter.
Interesting to look at for design if nothing else-

I've seen those before. If he isn't on this forum, he is on the "other" forum. You know the one with 3 different names. Anyway, I think these would be fine for the casual listener, but they look pretty cheap to me. I am going to venture to make my own fiberglass ones in the next couple of weeks for the 4" and tweet of my Focal set. I will post pics later to see how they come out.

I won't say the look bad or good, but the backs of most shop built kicks look pretty rough. One of the first rules of industrial kick building is to not re-invent the wheel, use the sidewalls from behind where the kick will go as the basis of building the new panel. This set is larger than I would build for my self.
Good for you to try your hand at fiberglass! I almost always end up making more than one set, a first set to try for sound and to discover limitations, and then a second decent set that won't look so bad. Don't be surprised if it takes a bit. If you are using a set of three way focals you are right, you can tighten up the design considerably over this!
Still, I thought the post is ineteresting, not something you see too often.
