Rear Fill

I am thinking of getting some rear fill I am not looking for any thing spectacular because I am using only deck power and don't want to take away from the front sound stage. The sedan has a 6x9 opening, but I could even do 6 1/2 or even 5 1/4 with an adaptor. Any suggestions? I hear Infinity Reference are good sounding speakers with deck power. Lastly, I don't care about bass response because I have subs and will even possibly get some type of bass blocker to insure they don't get over extended when listening to CDs with a lot of bass. Mainly upper and middle range. I just want to know, then I'll found out who sells what and plan a day to go out and listen to them.

Thanks!

With subs in the trunk, you have to be careful of rear deck speakers.

I have heard that the air pressure created in the trunk can actually damage rear deck speakers - the pressure over-exterts the deck speakers from behind.

It all depends on your subs of course - if they pound pretty hard, they can exert pressure on the deck speakers as though the deck speakers WERE playing bass! No bass blocker or crossover can stop that.

If you have a moderate sub setup (as in, NOT BlueLEDz stuff ), you can probably use a speaker back there with good results.

excellent freq response for a dedicated midbass driver. won't really hit the extremely highs or extremely lows, but that's what you got subs and front tweets for
"Nice set of Hooters you got there." <Dumb and Dumber> LOL Thanks for the input. Do those speakers need a separate amp though? I am just possibly looking to just drop something in for rear fill, but then again who cares about those in the back. Right now I got to figure out what the hell is going on with my stereo I have to admit though, it's been fun messing with it and seeing what kind of results you get. Luckily for every one, in the beginning, no one was around. I had a time taking out the radio and trying to run power wires through the rubber gromet in a 2001 Protege. They just don't make them easy to tinker with. For a while there it was one unforeseen problem after another. Now I just got a little bit of tweaking.

As far as rear fill is concerned. I like the Alpine 2 way 6x9's, but they have been discontinued for the new S-Series 3 way speakers. What is Alpine doing any way, turning in to Acura? Type S and Type R speakers! I do like their demo Civic SI though. That is one hell of a project. I saw it in an Import Tuner magazine (or one of those similar mags).
