Question about LIGHTS and Affects on Car

Here's the situation:

2 headlights that are 80w draw bulbs that are 4300k
2 fog lights that are 55w draw bulbs that are also 4300k

will this affect the battery a lot or is this been done for a long time and it's safe? also i m wondering if it would be unsafe is it become too hot or the car cant take it. btw, this would be on a P5. any help would be great. thanks

I have 80/100 watt headlights and 80 watt driving lights. The color temperature, 4300 degrees Kelvin, doesn't effect current draw or heat. I haven't had a problem with mine, so I would think you would be OK. You might have to worry more about the wiring harness supplying current to the lights than the battery. Just check those a couple of times when you first use the lights and you should be OK.

I see, thanks. So all that draw wont really hurt the battery too much on startup?

BTW, has anyone used or heard of "Hiper" bulbs. Are they any good and do they last long?

Thanks

Do you usually turn your lights on before you start the car? I don't, but as long as your battery is in good condition and it's not too cold out, it should be OK.

i had a set burn out on me after 7 months, first was the passenger, then like 2 hours later, the drivers side....i liked the output, but still not worth the hassle. I guess thats what $8 gets you.............

Darryl & I really like the Falcon bulbs we carry. They are a great bulb. Very clean, crisp bright lights that seem to be very good quality (Darryl has been using them longer than me so he'll know the reliability factor a little better) I have some pics & info on my site. Some comparrison stuff that shows the difference pretty good. Im going to do some more once I get the highs in (I got the lows & fogs & loved them so much Im ready to do the highs) so I'll post those pics as soon as I get them. You can see them here

I thought you said you could get the Hipers for 30.00?? 27.00 is a tad to pricey? I will check on the Warrany, maybe Darryl will jump in with that one.

Ya, in stores, but I just saw ones on eBay for under $20. I havent decided yet so who knows. If the Falcons are reliable enough, I might just go with them.

Oh, gotcha. I dont know, I really like the Falcons and I've only had them a week! They look great & dont blind everyone that passes you (which it seems like most "white" lights do when you are driving past cars that have them). They are very clean & look great. Everyone that I've showed loves them. Price wise, they are great. I think they compare pretty close to the PIAA's & Hellas for about 1/3 the price. I dont remember how long Darryl said hes had them in his car but they've lasted a lot longer than a couple other ebay buys he got a while back.

Warranty is exchange only, but i need to double check on the time limit, if any. Possibly lifetime, but maybe only 1 year...next order i pick up, i will talk to thier tech dept. and get the final answer.

I've had the Falcons in my car for only the past 3 months, both fogs (lenses and bulbs) and my headlight bulbs.

Only time will tell, but from initial tests, these a very good product.

BTW, Mitch, the before and after pics look good, shows a good comparison.
