if you have to ask if it's ok to do something in regards to law... most of the time you'll get the "it's illegal" answer... duh

Yellow fogs are just fine. I think that the blue you might be referring to would be border line depending on the mood of the cop that sees them. They are just stupid blue coated bulbs.

In addition to possibly being illegal a blue fog light is about the worst color light you could have if you are actually in need of fog lights... the blue end of the spectrum is really reflective and would make the lights more of a hinderance than a help in any kind of rain/snow/fog.

yellow fog lights cut thro rain/fog/snow whatever better than high brights or blue tinted ones,
Le Mans cars have yellow headlights for the weather conditions

"LeMans" cars have yellow lighting to distinguish the difference in class. The GT,GTS, the slower of all the cars use yellow lighting. While all others use a more clear beam. Therefore the slower cars can tell when a faster class car is approaching in a race, and give way to them.

Just wondering. I have a 200.5 Protege LX. I was considering fog lights for this car and have looked at the many posts on this subject. I understand that Mazda makes special lights for this car, but several people have complained about their usefulness and the cost is quite high for lights that only look good. Many have suggested aftermarket fog lights in its place. Most of you have the P5 and have a larger number of lights to pick from (space available). My question is if I wanted to put some other light on my car which one and where to put them?

Sp u still have the ones that came with the car right? If i was going to get some i would get PIAA fog lights. They're the best ones out right now. And they last for a long time. And its all up to u where u can to install it. But im thinking a good place would be the front of the car (DUH!)...lol....good luck man
