Dewey,

I would just use a razorblade to be truthfull. Just keep it at a 45* angle to the cover, and see if that will peel it all off. Bringing the engine up to temp would probably help alot too. Just be carefull not to burn your hands!

To everyone else, I've posted a tutorial on how to paint the cover. It can be found here. Hope it is helpfull!

are the "Hose Techniques" hoses thick. I bought some Pilot silicone hoses and they suck. I stuck the hoses on the vaccum points and when the hoses heat up (from the engine heat) they start to pinch themselves. (ie, the Variable Intake Control System vaccum hose, pcv valve hose....yada yada)

The hose I used - well - some sizes were thick-walled, and other sizes weren't. Mostly the very tiny vacuum lines were quite thin, and I don't think I used any of that size on my 2.0L.

In order to not have any of the pinching issues you wrote about, I tried to cut the new hose a little longer than the stock one - and tried to make "easy" corners, with no sharp bends.

For example - the PCV piece you were saying pinched on your install - that thick piece coming from the PCV then splits into two smaller lines - I cut those smaller lines longer than stock, and basically was able to reduce the angle of the bend of the thicker piece to the PCV. I don't have any pinching hoses that I have noticed yet.

Slva's right. As long as you're mindfull as to where you put the hoses (silicone is more prone to heat than rubber) you shouldn't have any problems. The PCV valve hose is probably the most troublesome. You really have to be carefull there. If it's pinched, you can end up with a vaccum in the crank case, and as a result big problems. That one was a real pain, again due to the bend. The stock hose is very hard rubber, and is pre-bent. Just use lots of hose, and try to make all bends as "shallow" as possible and you shouldn't encounter any snags.

Hope this helps!
