Pix of my own "Hose Techniques"
I got a hose kit from a local ATV store for $30 - also bought some red wire loom (4 different sizes - only needed 3 "so far").
This whole project cost me less than $50, and I covered a ton of stuff - more than the Hose Techniques kit, for less $$.
Too bad some hoses just can't be gotten to easily - I'd have done more! But, it's also tough to know when to stop.

Well, thankyaverymuch.
I still want to get at the main wiring bundle that feeds over the top of the engine - there are so many wires coming off of it, and so much tape, that wire loom was impossible - hmmm.....might have to go for the red electrical tape.

can't see it to well its kinda far away. I mean it looks good from that far away, but see if you can't get closer pics. Also, did you use the silicone hoses for the hoses atached to the pcv filter? (the one coming out the middle back of the valve cover.) If you did you might wanna run you car down the block and back (to heat it up a lil) then open your hood with your car still on and make shure they aren't pinched. Because i put Pilot hoses on mine attaching to the pcv valve and when they heated up they were sucking so hard that they were pinched together. So i had to put the ones that came stock back on. Just a heads up if you did.

Thanks for the tip about the PCV hose - I did change it, so I'll keep my eye on it. The hose I use for that little piece was quite thick, though. Anyway, I'll check it after my next decent drive.
I can say that close up it looks almost as good as from the far pix - I only wish I could've put true red A C hoses in instead of using wire loom as a cover - but it looks pretty sharp. I guess there's a little bit of "slop" here and there that you don't see in the pix, particularly with the wire loom, but it's not bad looking - just not as nice as it probably could be with legit red hoses.

I'll most likely be going Short Ram - I haven't heard any evidence that proves that the CAI gives greater power gains, and I like the look of the shorty better, it's an easier install, and I like the simple access to the filter for cleaning, etc.
Plus It's cheaper and I won't need the water bypass.
As soon as Mitch @ protege5online.com gets the WeatherFlectors, I'm shooting an order to him for them and the AEM.

Not too bad at all! I've got close to the same setup. I've had my hoses on for about two months now, and my wire looms were started last weekend, but they're an ongoing project for when I have time... Hmmmmm... What am I doing sitting here? 
Anyways, looking good man! You can see pics of mine here if you'd like. I've also painted the crank case cover, and a few other small things as you can see. The pic of my engine bay is at the very bottom, but unfortunatel that's an old pic, so the wire looms aren't shown. I'll see if I can get that all "wrapped up" and take a pic with it all done for tonight.

Looks nice, bro. So did you use the brake caliper paint to do the lettering on the valve cover? That was my plan - figured if the stuff stands up to brake heat, it'll do fine on the lettering.
What'd you paint the oil cap with? Same stuff?
I think once you get started with this colored engine bay crap, it's tough to stop. I still want to get out the red electrical tape and "wrap up" a few loose ends

I did the brakes, valve cover, and oil cap all with the same paint. I just used some Tremclad "Fire Red" rust paint. It's only about $3.99 and I've already had it on everything for close to 5 months now, and I've not noticed any chipping / peeling, etc. from the heat. It really holds up. If you or anyone for that matter would like, I've got a detailed tutorial on how to paint the engine bay that I could post. I've sent it to a couple of people and they report it works as well for them as it has for me! Let me know if anyone's interested.

Yeah, I tried painting my "Mazda" and "DOHC 16 valve" lettering on my engine. It mostly looks OK, but I had a really hard time.
How did you mask off the parts you didn't want to paint? I filled the insides of the letters with elmer's glue, but when I picked it out, a bunch of paint came with it.
So I sprayed some of my paint into a plastic bowl and stroked it on with a brush.
Is there some better way to do this?
Assuming I want to re-do my lettering, how do I get the old paint off? Will paint thinner work, or do I need sandpaper? Should I do it by hand? Or use the Dremel tool?
