Thank you all for the replies, you've been really helpful, now I have another Q: does anyone have an alpine HU? I'm trying to decide between the 7995 and the7894 .

The 7995 is more high end even though they have almost the same features, the 7995 doesn't have an internal amp, the 7894 does but it requires a 10g wire(with a fuse) to be run directly to the battery, I'm putting in 2 amps already so I don't know if I want even more wires to worry about. The 7995's screen is nicer.

I found a store that will sell me the 7995 for 460$ with a warranty of one year.
