HU Pre-out questions

HU Pre-out questions
Hello,
I have an Alpine (7871) HU that has three sets of pre-outs. I am using the deck to power my front and rear speakers. I want to use the sub pre-out to power an amp and sub. So the front and rear pre-outs will not be used.
The HU has sperate volume control for the sub and that the sub is supposed to be non-fading. Is the sub independant of the bass/treble controls? So if I adjust the bass levels on the HU (front/rear speakers) down, will this affect the sub at all?
Does that make sense?
And could someone explain the adjustments on this HU for bass/treble?
Bass C.
Bass Center Frequency: 60Hz - 80Hz - 100Hz - 200Hz
Bass Bandwidth (Q-Factor): Wide1 - Wide2 - Wide3 - Wide4
Bass Level: -7 - +7
Treble C.
Treble Center Frrequency: 10kHz - 12.5kHz - 15kHz - 17.5kHz
Treble Level: -7 - +7
Obviously the level is self explanitory, but I don't really see what the other settings are doing. And how these setting effect the sub pre-out.
Thanks in advance!
Jay

i have the exact same head unit, those bass settings are for the door speakers, if you press more buttons, i think its the ones near the volume control, you will get seperate bass controls for the sub, also, bbe has something to do with bass. i dont really know how to work the head unit that good, but if you still need help i will look for my manual when i get home tomorrow.

Those settings should not affect the sub pre-out at all. There should be separate settings specifically for that.
As far as the Frequency Center goes: What this means is the where the boost is centered. Like:
Bass Center Frequency: 60Hz - 80Hz - 100Hz - 200Hz.........means that the level control boosts or cuts (+7 to -7) the bass centered around the frequency selected. You can put more boost in the lower bass (60Hz) or more in the upper, mid-bass range (200Hz).
That's a nice feature to have - rather than just a "bass" or "treble" control, you get to decide what part of the bass or treble to control - it's like having a multi-band equalizer, rather than just "bass, middle, treble".
