Help a P5 Audio N00b out???

Hey guys I was thinking of upgrading my speakers in my 03 P5. I don't even know what size they are or anything. I notice that Mazda sells Kenwood upgrades but I don't really know about whos good and who isnt. I had a set of Infinitys in my last car and they had like a 5 year replacement warranty and I never had any trouble with them. What do you guys recommend for brands???

I recommend Focals!

These are nice.

These aren't bad either.

I have the first ones and they are sweet!

What to get will depend on how much work you are willing to put in! That is not a good or bad thing, but it will help if you access your willing to invest time and energy upfront.
For example, I too love focals, but they do not make a 6 x 8 speaker, so for the front you would have to make or get adaptors, not a big deal but work. Most folks would agree that seperates sound better than coax, but the install of seperates will take take time and a touch of work.
The standard drop ins will be 5 x 7 in the front, and 6.5 inch in the rear doors for a P5.
Two things you might want to do, read up on speakers so you understand what the specifications mean, and second go listen to as many different brands as you can. You will be the one who lives with the speakers and the way they sound, so you very well might want to get some you do like the sound of!
Most everyone on this board will tell you that car audio is an addiction, so don't be surpirsed if new speakers is just the start, soon it will be amps and then subwoofers!
Enjoy, and let us all know what you decide on, and let us know how we can help- welcome!!

What kind of work would I have to do to install a set of these focals?? I enjoy working on my car doing things but it's brand new and the idea of me having to cut stuff or things like that dont go over so well with me. So what kind of work are we talking about here??? Also has anyone upgraded their tweeters up in the corner of the door??
