Question n00b 1st gen & BPT ?'s

Bare with me as I've searched thru the archives here and at ClubProtege trying to research the BPT swap into a 91-94 LX.

-From my understanding the only splicing if you use the BPT harness and ECU is for the fuel pump?

-Need a new clutch for the LX tranny, Walbro/RX7 fuel pump, exhaust blah blah.

-Need an intercooler, and piping fab'd up.

-Can run max of 10psi safely with the BPT ECU/Injectors?

-Can use the BPT or LX BP VAF with the BPT ECU?

I'm just looking for a good project car for the summer that won't be too expensive. From what I gather, 10psi will net 200whp with FMIC and exhaust.

Should I replace the headgasket, water pump, or any other accessories on the BPT before installing it? I assume plugs, wires rotor/cap should be replaced?

Dunno how much help this is gonna be to u but...
This is wat i did:

i put the motor in with new mounts...
sent it to a guy who wired the harness up to my STOCK ECU
and intalled my FMIC..
all he asked for was my stock injectors and the harness thats with that..

I have the stock LX fuel pump
Stock LX Air Flow meter..(i think he tunned it not sure)
pretty much stock lx everything....

and it runs fines and hangs with Mustang GT's

im pretty sure a better air flow meter or a haltech
would improve my system...and an aftermarket fuel pump
but for now im satisfied

cool. i'm just looking for minimal wiring, bu i'm glad you've presented a new option. what intercooler did you use? i'm looking at a starion unit right now. what about exhaust? did you use the EnergySuspension mounts?

i actually am using some AutoZone mounts..lol
i mean since mine is still hooked up to the automatic tranny n all..
but hey Lifetime Warranty!...

and i have an intercooler from an Izusu NPR
i like it cause its shaped better and the end-tanks come out
alot more feasibile than a starion one..

i payed $150 (hook-up) for it..but if i told where id have to kill u.
but i can get u one foR $200..

As far as the exhaust goes..igot a 3" custom downpipe made by
a guy at this performance shop. he did it for me while the car was
in the shop for the FMIC..then i went to a muffler shop and just got 3" all the way back (no cat) with a turbo HKS hi-Power muffler..

My setup was basically just to get the car up and runing because i needed trasportation badly..so i went the cheap way out,but i think its still does a good job..im just gonna upgrade from here on u know till i hit the 300HP mark

cool. I'll have to scour ebay for an izuzu IC. This is going to be ona budget(summer project car). How much did it cost to fabricate the IC piping?

Are you running the MSD Ignition Boost Retard Unit or Apexi SAFC? I'm kinda unlcear at the limits of the stock BPT GTX ecu according to psi. What's the max I can safely run on pumpgas w/o tuning?

Sorry for all the questions... I'm just trying to learn as much as I can so I can decide if this is the route I want to go.

-forgot you're running the LX ecu still... if you the answers feel free to share though
