Hawaiian- how ya doin?

Boss is not a top teir manufacturer, it is a faceplate number- manufactured in China or Korea, and sold to several companies who rebrand it as thier very own. It is not as uncommon as you might imagine, the stock 6 disc in the protege is built using Nakamichis patented technologies.

Ha- yes those are still in the box in the shop, I have heard some not so kind thinks about them from a friend, but I will play with them some day.
Too damn cold here right now- snow and 15 degrees!
Run your toes through the sand for me!

Pioneer HUs are the best bang for the buck IMO, top notch quality and they come loaded with features.

I second that. I just got the new 5500 mp3/wma player for $187 shipped. Can't beat that with a stick.

Then be prepaired to spend no less then $280. Other then lacking power the stock unit is as good if not better then most aftermarket units up untill this point.

You know- I saw a new in the box Premier 650 CD unit on E-Bay this morning for right at 200.00 dollars, and it is above plain jane a notch or two.
add shipping, it might end up 230.00 for the unit, then you will need install, and a second pocket of somekind.
