More Info Please

Could you supply some more info please. I am interested in a Carbon Fiber hood. I know APC should have one soon. What company is making the one you are talking about? What kind of finish? Is it already Clear Coated? What Price/Shipping? Where are you located? Thanks for the extra info!

Hey,

I am interested, I have already been doing some checking myself. I was going to wait until Spring though to really look into it, but you should get a hold of me. If you have AIM: mine is MP3chick665.

My email is sdaves@bradhart.com. Where are you located at?

99-00 CF hoods

Jeremy Dehart has tripointengineering lined up to make CF hoods for the 99-00 protege if we can get some people interested. If Eric is still interested, we have 3 people. Keep in mind that it will only fit 99-00 pros and it will cost $400-450 (I believe). Reply if you're in.

Jeremy, not to complicate things, but have you and Jeremy D contacted Fiber Images about producing carbon fiber hoods for us? Someone else posted that Fiber Images was planning to produce hoods for the '01 Proteges. I'm really sold on Fiber Image's quality after viewing the videos on their web site. http://www.fiberimages.com/main.htm

CF hoods

Eric,

I haven't contacted fiberimages, yet. I guess I will but, we need to see if anyone else has any interest. Obviously, they'd be more inclined to make them if we had a decent order. I agree with you on the quality from fiber images. I hope some people respond to this post.

RE:More info

Sorry 'bout not putting more on here.

MHP is the company I was talking to. They are making it from the OEM hood so it's supposed fit like OEM.

They said it'll probably cost about $500 plus shipping and handling. They are looking for intrested people before making them.

If I get anymore info I'll post it...

MHP into Hyundai's

Yes they (MHP) do stuff for Hyundai. But they are starting to make parts for the MP3/Pro5...

I'm intrested in a cf hood, and I saw the videos from Fiberimages. That's some cool stuff. I''m just worried about if I get one, that it'll fit like OEM. I've seen some of the crap fiberglass body kits for Hondas and I would like to avoid having to spend all kinds of money at the body shop making a hood fit right.

Fiber Images Hoods

I am very interested in a Carbon Fiber Hood from Fiber Images. I have seen the quality first hand on my brother's 97 Eclipse. The hood was made to fit perfectly, the finish was excellent, and as everyone has been saying, they are as strong as hell. I do know that APC is looking to have one ready very shortly too. We should have plenty of choices starting early next year for products for our cars.

People, think... If you stop limiting things to just the Pro5 and MP3 you could sell more...don't exclude the 01 3rd Gens...the hood is exactly the same.

Limiting Market

The cf hood has been covered in the exterior area for the both the '99-'00 3rd gen and the '01 3rd gen.

I put this thread in here becuase the comapny (MHP) was is specifically asking for MP3/Pro5 owners. I understand that the hoods are the same, MHP is looking at a specific market for some reason.

Contact MHP if you really want it

If you really wan the hood go to www.mhptuning.com

They said they handle everytihng, and it's is supposed to be good quality, and fit like the OEM hood.
