I wish down south where it is warm enough the autocross season was year-round.. of course the events far outside the regular season would be no-points events
I have the itch and am tempted to do road rally ...
A friend of mine posted some pics she took from the one last weekend here:
I'd have to run separate summer/winter front bumpers and struts/springs on top of my current summer/winter hood and wheels .. but it looks like so much fun!

What is the status of your car? I haven't heard anything in a while (might have missed a few posts here and there but in general I'm well-informed of the threads on here )

Hasn't it been a few weeks at least, or is time flying while I'm not having fun at all (finals)?
What are you driving now? I know 3 weeks into my car getting fixed I really needed a hug because I was driving a Pontiac G5 :'(

Im rockin' a Jeep Liberty
8000x more body roll than Protege on stock springs, fun stuff, haha.
Yeh, they should be done with it by now, I'm gonna go hassle em more.
Still haven't decided on rims. Local shop (that gave me a deal on my old ones) told me to drop in and see what he has. He always gives me awesome prices, plus no shipping worries and free tire mounting = ftw.
Being away from my car so long has given me the 'new car' bug though
There's a white Audi A4 wagon calling my name...

Don' go for the Audi. They're garbage. I was considering getting one this summer when I came back from Australia and all the research I did pointed to numerous problems with fuel pumps, electrical problems coming out the wazoo, and a buncha other little crap. Their reliability is obviously not even close to where they set their price tags.

Yeh, but forum talk is always about the problems.
For the 50 people in a thread who report a problem, there might be 1500 other members who are doing just fine.
No one chimes in to a thread to say "Mines's not broken".
If people were researching Proteges, they might thing that they are very prone to EGR failures, since alot of people have reported trouble with them. I'd still bet there are many more Proteges out there that have never had an EGR issue.
Just a thought.

Very true but vdub/audi do have awful reliability scores from unbiased sources as well.
I've been tempted before (new GTI) but.. yeah that always stops me. Plus for the GTI long term test with car and driver by 40000 miles they had 6 quarts of 'unscheduled oil additions' --that's f-ing retarded on any car that doesn't have a rotary engine.
