by uber huge I can only guess you're talking about the Perrin intercooler that forces you to remove your bumper support bar (replacing it with a part not at all engineered for safety.. really a horrible idea for a car that is ever driven on the street).

yeah it's crazy overkill. If you make enough power that you need an intercooler that large, you'd know about it.. because you'd have to be running forged internals.

I've seen a protege at ~400whp (track only car) with a front mount smaller than my own. It was a kit straight from Callaway (the people who designed the MSP turbo kit) and was to be sold as an upgrade FMIC kit for the MSP --never made it to market.

In the end, the stock turbo (Garrett GT25R dual ball bearing) is more than enough if you don't have forged rods and pistons. The stock turbo will easily blow your engine if you tell it to.

As you can see from this page, the stock msp turbo is around $935 dollars new:
http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=GRT

for the same price, you can get a GT28R, and for 240 dollars more, you can get a GT28RS, both common upgrade turbos for the MSP... the GT28R is basically your stock turbo with an ever so slightly larger compressor housing (I don't have the numbers right in front of me, going from memory)

I have turbo envy, haha.

By the way, isn't it funny that pretty much every regular is a mod

Well, not every, but most of the daily posters are also mods.

drove mine to work, and started planning some slight interior mods (Interior LED swaps/trim painting etc) so when I get that 6cd changer I can do it all at the same time. Preplanning FTW

Most of the mods are mods of small, specialized sections of the site. It would be really bad if we were ALL 3rd gen mods :P

I want doubled posts, so much easier to postwhore that way!

After class today when I was talking back to my car I noticed all sorts of white residue on my front bumper support beam. I'm not exactly sure where that came from, it kinda looked like I attempted to wax the bumper support beam but never removed it. I know I didn't though.. so I'm way confused.

I decided that I'm not even going to consider removing the three lower grille support bars until next spring. I want the protection of that lower grille when I need to plow my driveway.
