...okay, here's the deal, everyone. QWKSILVR02 does have a video showing his car doing 135, at 6500rpm. So yes, the answer is, it will do it (with a few mods). I am amazed. But, man enough to admit when I am wrong. BTW, I know my cluster well enough to believe that the video could only have been shot in a Protege of some type.

I don't know why, but that bit about resenting me struck me as funny as ****. I am still chuckling about it...

Oh good grief. I am POSITIVE I went 120+ in the P5 when she was stock. I also have done 135 in the sLOCUS, but it was turbo'd. I was amazed at how stable the Protege feels at top speed compared to the ZX3, which felt "floaty".

But, I guess I'm full of BS too, right?

From what I read here you still haven't proven your original point

[QUOTE=juddz] Sadly, as I've long suspected, the top speed (in stock condition) was found to be 113mph. Using my mph guide that I did in Excel (and adjusting tire diameter smaller by 1.7mm to dial out the error margin to match my real-world data), I came up with a top speed of 116.6, if the car could pull 5500 rpm in top gear. QUOTE]

I feel ive proved my point, the video actually shows 130mph at 6000rpm. Which means I have 500rpm before redline and 1000rpm before the rev limiter. Which means my "claim" of 140mph is possible. My original point was that the tested 113mph was wrong and juddz calculations of 116mph were also wrong.... If you feel I havent "proved" my point, doesnt bother me. Like I said before I have no reason to lie about 140 cuz Ive seen and done it IN MY CAR.

No video...but there may be a blurry photo or two. Mind you, this was on a very long straight stretch of highway (which will remain undisclosed at this time) and it took a while to get it up to that speed.

Hey Jack....... Go drive your car. How will you know for sure what your car will do and can handle, if you dont do it yourself? Screw studies and comparos obviously they arent accurate. And I wouldnt ask anyone here (atleast on this thread) cause they know dont know everything (like they think they do,you know who you are). Just go drive your car that way know one can tell you different from what you have done and seen.

Not touchy... maybe a little bitter towards a few individuals. If your not interested in actually going that fast, why ask the msp top speed question?
