the obx 1.6L header does not exist...I dare youy to find 1 member that has it....You want go-fast parts for the 1.6L..Listen up, here is what's available...

Wagner Motorsports makes a turbo kit for the 1.6L...that'll run about $2500-$3500...

SR Motorsports makes undrive pulleys for around $150-$200...

Injen Makes a CAI for $225..

You can find almost the same exact CAI on ebay minus the injen stickers for about $55...

ACT makes STAGE 1 and 2 clutches for about $250-$350...

2.25 inch cat back can be had at a muffler shop for about $250

find an importer to get the J-spec ZL-VE cams for you..mine were about $300 plus shipping

other than that get lighter to get faster, remove spare, dont run with a huge amp and subwoofer...switch to racing seats(amost every seat avail is lighter than stockers) summit offers a seat that weighs 7lbs...dont run 17"s...run lightweight 14"s(Miata wheels are PERFECT)

You know, this header thing is making me absolutely crazy.
Protegegarage claims they have them and have 'sold several'
Macdaddy, I agree with you but practically got myself bitch-slapped on another forum for suggesting it doesn't exist.
I have NEVER seen anyone, on any forum, that has one.
Why is this ghost header so hard to confirm?
I don't even have a 1.6, but it'd be nice to put this to bed once and for all!

Here's another fact that confirms what i am saying...obx lists the 1.6L and 2.0L header as the SAME part#!!!! How could this be??? Maybe because they actually built it for the 1.8L and made a mistake ?? No offense to Ken, but a a seller is going to tell you whatever to get your money, then deal with you later if there is a problem...EVERY time I emailed OBX to check on this header, I was told it's still in R&D...want a 1.6L header for the same money??...Here is the short version(keep in mind there is more actual work but this is the jist)...find a guy who knows how to weld...buy a 1.6L exhaust manifold gasket and use it to trace your flange on plate steel...then weld some steam pipe to make the curves down to a collector...weld another flange on the other end....Walla!! 1.6L header great thing is on a 1.6L you have only 1 cat!! so no CEL's and your still legal!!

Guess what jr ?? DADDY is wrong!! The only thing that matters is the offset of the wheels...Miata wheels have the same offset as protege wheels +45 I believe..I will make a 100% guarantee it will work...It has already been done !

yeah another interesting fact is that 94+mustang wheels will bolt right onto a 5-lub protege. Mustangs are built with FWD offsets.
