MoonRoof Deflector for P5

Hi guys, I got tired of going over 75 and hearing the wind blow through the racks like a bat out of hell. I bought the moonroof deflector from a local dealer after calling around a bit. Can it be that hard to find this deflector? I looked at the package and it indicates it is for the protege. Is this the same deflector for the p5 as well? Also there is a dude on ebay selling the mp3 from bumper protector. Can you order this as well?I was thinking of getting the cargo mat. Is this the rubber trunk liner that you can wash out? Thanks guys!

PS. Is it me or is the shifter feel kinda weak in this car, IE it seems to flex too much and move while shifting?

worried about ruining pain from moon deflector?

Well, after looking at the protege and protege5 brochures, the moon roof deflector is the same part # . However I read on some boards that after time these moon visors ruin the pain where the rubber meets the car roof. Is this true?

hi5, I never heard that before. I hope it's not true, as I have the deflector. So far no signs of paint problems, but the car is only a few months old...

I think it might be true cause the rubber will tend to dimishish on to the paint as well as the normal weathering of the car. Hmmm. Maybe I will wait till summer to put it on.

I have not heard of it either. I can only forsee that if you have it on for a long long time, when you remove it, you might see some marks there (where the plastic comes in contact with the roof). But if you keep it on or replace with a newer one, it should cover up the mark.

If you really worry that much, then put a coat of car wax there before you put the deflector on. I'm sure that would be sufficient to protect the paint.
