What are the biggest rims you can put on a 2000 Pro' LX?
I own a silver 2000 Pro' Lx and want to modify it. One of the very first things I want to do to it is swap out the crappy 14's with hubcaps with 17" rims. My dad doesn't think I would be able to put 17's on it unless I modify my suspension. He wants me to get 16's, but if you get 17's it opens your choices up even more. I was looking at 17" rims that are the same style as the ones on the MP3. (those are pimp) Any I want 17" rims with very low profile tires. Do you think they would fit without any problems?

offsets
You should be able to fit some 17's. I think the MP3 has a 5 lug bolt pattern, and the 2000's are just 4 lug, like a miata. Only problem with 17's are that they are heavy and will make your car feel sluggish. I would go for some 16" miata wheels- they're light, fairly cheap from Mazda Motorsports, and look stock.
If you are definately set on getting 17's, talk to the sales people at TireRack.com, or some other reputable Tire shop. They know which wheels and tire combinations will fit the car properly.

Heavy unless you get a lightweight cast wheel, such as the Rota Subzero, which will be coming in December - will give a forum deal for all protege forum members, or the G-racing Suzu, or the Enkei RPO1. All of these wheels will be between 16 and 17 lbs. a piece. for a 17" that's as light as a forged wheel. Some of which are available in different colors.
BEWARE OF THE OFFSET YOU CHOOSE. CONTACT ME FOR ASSURANCE. I'VE DONE ALL THE PHYSICAL FITMENTS.
If interested in more info., contact me. A portion of all proceeds goes back to this forum and we'll get you one of the lowest prices, so be supportive and show you care. hehe.
I have all the offset info., and can still get some of these in 4 on 4.5".
By the way, you could put 19's on that ****, it all comes down to tire sizing. No matter what, with all the tire sizes available, it just takes a little tire calculator to find how to make it match your stock tire and wheel circimference = O.D.
