What's reclearing?? do you mean another coat of clearcoat?

I think that's what I'd like to do.

Maybe it's not that the paint's too thin. My thoughts are that it's just too brittle. If the paint was thin, but flexible, I think it would withstand ALOT more abuse. If I can coat it with something that will absorb chip impacts better, then count me in!!

I've had my P5 (silver) for almost seven months now and so far it's no better or worse paint-wise than any other car I've had (VW, Honda, Nissan). I'm glad I got the hood deflector, though--thanks to it my hood is still in perfect shape. My only real paint beef is with the hatch spoiler--from most angles it looks blotchy and uneven and doesn't match the rest of the car.

Paint chips and wax.

I work Part time in fixing chips.
It will happen, it’s going to happen.
It is an easy fix.
Clean you car good.
You can buy the paint kit from mazda.
Get a really fin paint brush ,from like a hobby shop.
And fill in the chip little at a time.

Wax.
You want to see some shine.

Unreal shine
Go look at the cars. I saw a car before and after.
Unreal. I will be getting this stuff next weekend.
It is all day project to do this.
At lest 10 coats.
It is a 4 step program LOL.

Okay, I've had my Vivid Yellow P5 since April and yes, I have seen chips but as Pro_Fan said it is a fact of life driving on the road. I guess the only way you can prevent chips is not to drive.

I also have the Stone Guard or Rock guard and my front end is great. However I just found a chip on the upper end of the hood. Personally I think it has more to do with the aerodynamics of the front end more than anything else.

I also have a chip on the passenger door from what I can only assume is some idiots in parking lots and also a few chips on the running boards. I guess this weekend I will be spending filling out some of these little blemishes. Of course chips on the front bumper but since it is plastic I am not as concerned as the body itself.

I am putting some clear protection on the fog lamps as I am worried that I might get a hit on them and for the amount that they cost I do not like replacing them if I can help it.

By the way has anyone noticed that the primer is white? I find it interesting as sometimes I really have to look to find the chips on my car.
